Hey all, please forgive my noobness, but I just thought i'd ask, how do i change the rotation in the equipment tab? and can someone please explain what exactly the EP values work? and what the numbers actually stand for, This is my first time using the spread sheet and i'd just really like to understand it hence so many people told me to go use it to up my dps :)

You change the rotation on the front page at the top where it asks what rotation you want to use, at least on Aldriana's.
EP are Equivalence Points. An idea created to compare different things in relation to their effect on DPS. One point of Attack Power equals one EP. If Haste has an EP of 1.85, then every 1 point in Haste will give you the same DPS as 1.85 points in Attack Power. (made up example, do not use as any kind of guide)
Depending on your gear, enchants, gems and buffs, your EP values can and likely will change drastically. For example, if you are below Experience cap, then Experience has a massive EP value, I don't know of any of the spreadsheets that model it all that well, but if you are under it, it is likely that getting more is the largest increase you can get in DPS. As you add and remove pieces of gear, your EP values will change and so, if you want the greatest influence on DPS, then you adjust your gems and maybe enchants to reflect that.
All the while, you work to keep a balance since every single change effect the decision about what the next change should be. What this means is, the spreadsheet updates with every change of gear or gem or enchant so that it should give you a "What's best right this moment" guide.
For example, you may get 3 pieces of upgrade gear, say one emblem, one drop and one crafted item. So, you start adding them into your spreadsheet and with the first, it suggests gemming Attack Power, then you add the next and it suggests adding Haste and the last you add suggests you add Hit and Haste. This way, you can see what effect upgrades will have and what gemming you might need to change to max out your possible DPS. (again, made up example)
There is a lot more in theorycrafting and on elitistjerks as well as in these threads about it all, this just scratches the surface. Hope it didn't ramble too much.

The rotation displayed there is the optimal one for your current gear/gem/talent setup. You can't change it.

I used to use the old spreadsheet because I enjoyed editing the gear list to include my crappy gear as I moved towards 80. Now that I have hit 80 and I have a spattering of 232 and 245 gear, I decided to "upgrade" to this 1.3.3 mutilate spreadsheet.
I take my time and I input all of my crappy gear. I like to do it this way because it allows me to make cost effective decisions at this point. 50-90 emblems is a lot of currency to spend and I'd sooner spend it on the piece that will create the most difference. At the very least, it feeds the OCD in me.
That said, according to this new spreadsheet, I have an estimated DPS of 5,197 and that is simply not right. The older roguecraft spreadsheet says 1900 and that is more accurate. I am 99.9% sure I edited the 1.3.3 spreadsheet correctly so what did I do (or expect) wrong?
Thanks

if u expect to be pulling 1900dps in anything but quest greens at 80 u are doing something horribly wrong with your spec/rotation.

Well, hence why I am using this sheet and trying to figure #$%^ out. Considering I started playing WoW on Day #2 of its existance and I just got to 80 about a month ago, I might be the longest running noob in history.

lol start with the class guides before investing alot of time in the spreadsheet.
The same line of thought still holds true with preformance as it has for most of the game:
skill>rotation>gear
The spreadsheet is a tool you can use to min/max your dps. This tool could help you pump out an additional 5-10% of dps unless you are doing some things horribly wrong with your gemming enchanting (i.e. using intellect/spellpower gems).
The largest gains I believe you will see will be found by following the suggested rotations and working on perfecting those.
once you do that the spreadsheet is a great tool to determine what gems to put in your gear and to let you know if an item is actually an upgrade over your current gear. But again the spreadsheet is only going to assist you a small amount. Work on your skill and rotation to see those large gains i think you seek.

Cool.
What I definitely am trying to improve is staying in combat. Holy hell do I spend an awful lot of time out of combat, chasing down the tank! I still am not experienced enough to know the tendencies of the different tanks so I get caught in stealth slowly walking my ass to the targeted mob. Warriors charge, DK's pull, and I repeatedly steal aggro from pallys. So much to know! LOL!
On my path to 80, I was using HaT so all of these problems were quickly solved with a Shadowstep. I tried like hell to continue to use HaT but grew tired of staring at my energy bar and waiting.
Other than that, I think I am getting pretty proficient at keeping HFB, SnD, and Rupture up while sneaking a envenom in when appropriate. After my post yesterday, I hit 2200 with a DK and his Horn of Winter, so I will keep plugging away like you said.

Crap. While doing my reading, I could have sworn that was part of the drill. You learn something new every day! If I weren't at work, I'd start cutting up mobs right now.
Also, for any rogues having the same pitiful problems that I am having, might I recommend IceHud as a mod? It has helped me tremendously. I made SND and HFB the brightest red & blue (respectively) that I could find and, now, I can't miss it when it is on its way out.
