I am so dissapointed by the Barkskin glyph. Thats like the most stupid thing i ever saw. If Blizzard wants to act like its a balance druid defensive ability that helps to AoE grind, okay, but then they should fricking stop putting Barkskin bonuses on Feral T7, and making it look like Barkskin is intended to be a tanking cooldown matching Icebound Fortitude, Shield Wall, Divine Shield, and Divine Protection. Now i bet when the other tanks get these abilities glyphed, they are actually gonna get tanking advantages. :-/
Anyway, is that really an actual Blizzard item description? :-/
Glyph of Barkskin *new* -- Reduces the chance you'll be critically hit by melee attacks by 1 to 0% while Barkskin is active.
When did they start to use "by 1% to 0%", duh, i thought they would use something like "by up to 1%". Putting that 0% into it makes it sound silly as hell :D
Oh well. DUMB GLYPH I DONT NEED CRIT REDUCTION :(
Sad bear is sad :(
Gimme glyph of lacerate NOW.
Think from resto druid point in pvp.....just because you can USE it not mean it made for you.. still it better then none Less damage button

It's also because Savage Roar no longer buffs us with AP.
The reason we gemmed strength was because Savage Roar gave us 40% more AP. In other words, strength was worth more than Agility. Even without Savage Gore, Agility would now be the champ, just like in TBC-days.

There is no need for complicated theory crafting to realize that agility will be better than strength now. Because Savage Roar used to boost only the value of AP (and thus not the whole value of our white attacks and special abilities), strength was preferred, because it was boosting AP directly. But since Bleed damage was unable to crit (Bleed makes up to ~30% of a feral druid's damage, quite a hefty chunk), increasing strength was the only way to get maximum benefit for both direct hitting attacks (Melee Swings, Mangle, Shred, Ferocious Bite) and Bleed Effects (Rip and Rake).
Reminder from one of my previous posts here:
Melee Swings, Mangle and Shred all have their damage calculated from a portion of total AP plus some constant values, as follows (110 is the base 'paw damage' for pussies @ level 80):
Melee Swings (also considered 'normal damage', abbreviated ND): 110 + 7.14%*AP
Mangle: 2*ND + 635 = 2*(110+AP/14) + 635 = 855 + 14.28%*AP
Shred: 2.25*ND + 742.5 = 2.25*(110+AP/14) + 742.5 = 990 + 16%*AP
As you can see, all of these attacks have a constant value besides AP. Bleeds were even more constant value based:
Rip (detailed formula is for 5 CP)
For a generic value of 9000 AP (average raid buffed passive AP value for a high end geared pussy cat), this means the base value of Rip damage is 3204 + 2700. As you can see, the AP based portion is actually LOWER than the constant value. That is why the new Savage Roar formula is such a huge boost to Bleed damage mostly. Because it affects the final values, thus those constant portions as well.
Now since basically all damage is capable of critical hits, the emphasis goes once more on critical hit chance rather than Attack Power. New items (and especially weapons) will come packed with both crit and AP, in the forms of crit rating, agility and AP anyway. But considering the increasing value of these attributes, agility is obviously the most inflated DPS attribute for pussy cats (I reached ~1350 agility raid buffed; I purchased a +90 agility Darkmoon Card recently, and that should provide me with ~1700 agility raid buffed when it procs), it benefits the most from all the percentage bonuses from our talents and also from Blessing of Kings.
We also have to take into account the fact that, once around the 60% crit chance raid buffed, a pussy can generate combo points at a very fast rate, allowing for those lucky squeezed Ferocious Bites (100% crit, of course) to happen more frequently.

I'm not sure if anyone already went over this, but I was wondering how kitty swipe scales with the new Savage Roar change. Aadra talked about around a 5% increase in damage from shred, mangle and auto attacks, and around 10% increase with bleeds (w/o Primal Gore). Does someone want to do some math on how much swipe will change, if at all?
Post by

The difference from the old to the new Pussy Swipe (forgive my wording) is rather minimal. Because
Swipe
simply inflicts 260% weapon damage (338% weapon damage with talent), it differs, but only by a small amount. Because 'weapon damage' is calculated, as stated above, Melee Swings: 110 + 7.14%*APThis is the weapon damage itself. Going for a numerical example, let's consider the typical passive 9000 AP for a raid buffed pussy cat.
With the current
Savage Roar
formula, it will benefit from 12600 AP, thus inflicting 3.38 * (110 + 0.0714 * 12600) = 3412 normal damage (7712 critical damage - with 226% critical damage value from talent + meta gem assumed).
With the PTR
Savage Roar
formula, this becomes: 3.38 * 1.3 * (110 + 0.0714 * 9000) = 3306 normal damage (7473 critical damage). As we can see this is actually
a slight nerf
.
Because the constant value involved in weapon damage calculation, the 110 base 'paw damage', is so small, working with such high AP values actually pushes it back using the new Savage Roar formula, because
(old formula)
is greater than
(new formula)
for AP values above 4621 (we all agree that even a pussy cat geared in nothing but heroic dungeon epics and blues can reach at least 5500-6000 self buffed MotW AP). And considering the average passive 9000 AP for a raid buffed pussy cat obviously produces an inferior result for the new Pussy Swipe formula.
In this case, the new SR formula incurs a 3.2% loss for Swipe value. Also, considering the huge buff to sustained single target damage potential, its impact is minimal. Because the overall damage distribution (on a complete Naxxramas 25 run, one shot for each boss) looks like
THIS
usually (notice Swipe represents 25.3% of overall damage), I can safely assume that the overall damage loss is somewhere between 0.8% and 1%. Comparing that to the ~35% boost in single target damage potential, this Swipe nerf is simply negligible.

Ok, sorry for the double post, but I need to refer to one other issue.
Primal Gore
has been fixed on the PTR as I have read a little while ago. Now the critical hits from Rake and Rip do 200% normal damage. 226% normal damage to be more precise, with talent and meta gem. So, going back over some mathematics:
I shall quote myself for the second time about Rip (with the classic 9000AP value):It does anywhere from 16630 to - hold on to your butts - 33280 (37596) damage
OK... Normally, a 5CP Rip does total damage over 12 seconds (6 ticks). @9000 AP, that means 5904 base damage. With Mangle and Savage Roar, Rip does 5904 * 1.6 = 9446 damage over 6 ticks. That means 1574 damage per tick.
Now we consider 2 x T7 + Glyph of Rip + Glyph of Shred + Glyph of Savage Roar for 7 extra ticks and a 36% Savage Roar. First of all, we have an improved Rip for 1633 damage per tick. Then we have 13 ticks, for a total of 21234 minimum damage over 26 seconds (no critical ticks). Assuming ~54% crit chance, that means usually 7 out of 13 ticks are critical. That gives us an average of 35632 damage per Rip. Get your drool cups and dream for 47977 Rip damage with 100% crit chance on Loatheb... HOLY CRAP...
Now call me insane but when I am comparing this to the current Rip mechanics (starting at 9000 AP 10 ticks and +40% AP Savage Roar, it yields ~15132 damage), I see an average 135% increase. HOLY CRAP!

No way resto 4 piece will make it in without nerfs...a spammable instant heal, sorta defeats the purpose of swiftmend.
I like the balance set bonuses, Insect Swarm seems to be getting there.
swiftmend is still a cheaper mana cost though :)
but agreed, that 4p bonus for resto would be
ridiculous

You can't even compare the instant heal of Rejuv with a Swiftmend. Rejuv would instant heal for what? 2 - 3K max.
