It all depends on what classes are on them but if you would like a broad answer I would have to say a holy paladin enough points in retribution for repentance offers the best survivability 1v1.

But I dont know bout pally healers in raid boss fights, there heals seem to be slow and the druids and priest outheal the %^&* out of em. Maybe Im just playing with the wrong pally's...
Depends on the fight and skill of the pally. But being able to aoe heal generally gets you higher on the meter. When the fight allows, I heal over 5-6k hps on single target heals. That's not at all slow. I'll heal 5k on patchwerk too, using mostly Flash of Light.

PvP wise, Holy pally lasts the longest.
3v3 is hard to heal as a holy pally, but is still really good. 5v5, you have a healer to back you up, and a burst breaker. Holy paladin is almost a must.

yeah well, i can kill anything in bgs on my hunter, i just stand behind everyone and take pot shots =p
Skilled resto shaman with resil and a descent set of gear can 1v1 beat a hunter.

All healers are better at surviving in different ways. .
Priests have their power word shield buffs, and fear spam along with mana burn.
Druids have invisibility, immunity to polymorph effects, and their great CC/kiting skills.
Shamans wear mail armor along with a shield (comes to about 50% reduction) and also have their earthshield (the single best HoT in my opinion in the game) along with riptide/tidal waves effect, making them very difficult to interrupt while spellcasting. They are also decent kiters with some CC skills.
Paladins wear heavy armor, have great buffs along with various hands and divine shield.
Overall I'd say the paladin has the best survivability due to it's high mana efficentcy (going OOM is a problem for most healers) and its divine shield and heavy armor.
Priests are eaten alive by teams that run with a shaman, the purge effect quickly eats through all of their defenses and they also suffer from mana efficency, and weak armor.
Shamans have no real defense against attack other then healing over it and kiting the opposing team around (which when done effectively makes them very difficult to kill).
Druids are currently underpowered, and lack the mana capability to keep up with other healers. They are also forced to stay out of tree form, significantly reducing their healing power.
Of course, I am talking PvP in terms of arena, Battlegrounds are entirely too random to truly measure a healer's survivability. I myself play a resto shaman and this is just my view from facing all the other healers.
Keep in mind a healer is a support class, they support the guys who beat the snot out of you, beating them in 1v1 is no accomplishment. Pick the right one to support your team and you'll notice.
Also a side note to Arriez: Shamans are acutally the most powerful AoE healers in the game. They are just unable to use those heals in PvP combat due to long cast times, and weak healing effect. A holy priest will be hard pressed to outheal a PvE chainhealing shaman with plenty of targets taking damage.

Look at equal gear, it goes something like this for surviving burst damage anyways-
Holy Paladin>Shaman w/es up at start>Discipline Priest>Shaman without es up at start>Restoration Druid/Holy Priest.
Basically, Paladins can survive almost anything. Shaman have great survivability if they have es up before the burst hits. Discipline Priests can survive a ton, but are limited by cloth. Restoration druids *supposedly* (going my a friend of mine) can be bursted through pretty easily, and Holy Priests don't have near the survivability of Discipline Priests.

Very good point Mesoforte, Having ES on you when the burst starts to fly makes a huge difference due to the greater effect of lesser heal, less casting time lost, and of course the healing it does itself.

with the current state of the game, paladin is the way to go.
playing priest requires a considerably more talented player. it used be to that that being crafty and tricky would be a match for button-mash classes like warrior and paladin, but with damage the way it is, the big, heavy hitting heals of a paladin (coupled with built in plate mitigation, and a invulnerability shield) and superior mana regen absolutely destroy priests.

the question is totally pvp oriented , i forgot to mention at first post.
in a 2v2 or a 1v1 situation, paladin is better at surviving , i guess.
everyone seems to agree on that.
