Actually when WotLK arrived, they said hybrids are supposed to have the potential to do 95% of a pure DPS class' damage. As things are now, only situational advantages or badly played opponent classes allow well played ferals to ride with the top dogs of the damage meters. The way things are shaping up on PTR, I'm gonna compete head to head with the enhancement shaman, the two hunters, the warrior and the two warlocks that currently are able to outDPS me only by a small margin.
If this buff is going to put ferals on the top of damage meters, there is a design flaw. I don't want ezmode pewpew. I want to be competitive but make every bit of brain and reaction time in my fingers count in those raids!

Well atleast the Warr and lock (assumingt they are Affli) are getting some nerfs. Haven't read the hunter or Shaman changes that closely, and even if I had, I probably hadn't understood them perfectly.
Yeah well warriors are a bit too good on almost all of the bosses in the current content. Considering also that they too are some sort of hybrid class (being able to tank and DPS), this probably should not be happening. The same goes for enhancement shaman. These two could use a little nerfing if we are to follow the guidelines from the Blizzard official class descriptions. On the other hand, warlocks and hunters seem fine, and imo don't need any nerfs. Rogues and mages could use a slight buff from what I've seen (on 80% of the bosses I end up over them in damage meters, no matter how hard they seem to struggle, mages win sometimes but rogues get 99% shafted).
Otherwise, Death Knights, Paladins, Moonkins, Elemental Shamans seem to be well along the lines of 'hybrids', shadow priests somewhat behind (though they have absolutely beautiful AoE damage, there's a new one in my guild that competes directly with me in AoE burst capability).
Bottom line is, currently our warrior has passed 9100 DPS on Thaddius, fight in which I've only managed to do 7300 tops (of course, it all depepnds on how many lucky shred positionings I had). If after the new patch he'll do 9100 and I'll do 8700, then I am satisfied :) 400 DPS at this level is well within the 'margin of error' Blizzard said they'll leave for hybrid DPS classes (they should be able to get close to 5-6% behind pure DPS classes).
