Half the things you say are things I want to say, but can't find words for.
And the other half are things I wish I wanted to say, but I never even thought that far.
(Sorry if that doesn't make any sense, my english has taken a beating from speaking too much finnish.)
I think that's the first time I've ever tried to grab at the most appropriate adjective to describe something and come back with "eloquent"

I trust the president based on his actions. That's also one of the reasons I trust in God.
Then you are living a naive dream world and any further discussion with you is pointless. This is not meant in a mean way, but you need to grow up.

What actions of god?
Sending His own Son a sinless sacrifice to take on the weight of all mankind's sin, dieing for us and then raising the third day so that we could be forever free from sin. When Jesus took on our sin, even His own Father could not look at Him until he was cleansed. Imagine what it must have been like to be a perfect, sinless person and then to have to take on our sin and to die.

First, I'm not even voting age yet.A fact which I was distinctly
not
referring to, because I don't care about your actual age. If you grow up, it will be evident in how your beliefs change. If you do not, it will be evident in how your beliefs do not.
Second, what is bad with judging someone because of how they act? Don't we do it all the time?
I judge people on how they act, and when they act inappropriately, I become suspicious of them. The problem here is that you either a) do not see that the Presidents (God) act inappropriately , b) do not know it, c) do not care, or d) some combination of a, b, and c. It is incredibly naive of any person to commit any of those acts.

That's your mistake, and a critical one it was, because it only serves to further illustrate my point. You said that you have full faith in the Presidency, even though you know it to have been screwed up. You continue to blindly trust them to do the right thing, even though what they have done is obviously contradictory to your experience. This still means you fit into the set of a, b, or c of earlier; most precisely, c, though I would not doubt there are elements of a and b even still.
Merely extend what I have said to God, or rather, your faith in him. A, b, and c still apply, though in this case, a and b are most pertinent.
Ok I just want to get things straight, I've read the last two pages and it seems like your trying to talk about government and religeon at the same time... and its confusing. Please talk about one at a time porfavor D:
Go back and reread it. I used a metaphor to better get my point across, because people were continuing to argue and going nowhere.

What? I said that I trust the President based on his actions. That doesn't mean that if he screws up I'm going to keep trusting him.

Did you distrust Bush?

This is probably going to turn into a political bash, but ok -
The answer is yes, yes I did. You may have thought that he screwed up horibly, but I think he was a pretty good president. Sure he made a few mistakes, but so does everyone else. He didn't screw up worse than anyone else.

Huh? Your first line parses quite clearly as "I did distrust him", but the rest of it...

Sorry, I should have said, yes I trusted him. I read your question as, "Did you trust Bush?"
Post by

I could easily bash him, but that's not the point. The point is that you trust when you should not, and most people would agree (~66% of Americans and a whole lot more in the rest of the world) that your trusting Bush even after his eight years of office is a trust you should not have. Blind faith, still.
This will be my last post, except to possibly lock it should someone start seriously bashing. Good luck with life, Queggy; I hope for your sake that you
do
grow up and at some point realize that some things that you hold to be true you find to be false.
Edit: And before you try to turn that back on me, I do have my own 'religious' beliefs. I simply choose to allow logic and reason to rule those beliefs, and that means that science comes first.

Isn't it their opinion about how he messed up or not?

Good luck to you to. I hope you'll eventually change your mind about God. I'll be praying for you.

In case you missed it, which I suspect you did.
This is the real last time I post in this thread.
