Me (Resto Shaman) and a Death Knight have recently started doing some arena, so we're still gearing up and learning how to pvp.
At the moment I have 510 resilience, 18.8k HP and 1758 SP in my pvp gear.
I've got the cheapest pvp trinket (0 resi and 5min CD) equiped in slot 1, and
Forethought Talisman
equiped in slot 2.
The plan is to replace the pvp trinket with
Medallion of the Horde
. This would bring my resilience to a total of 594.
But now my question is, is it worth it to sacrifice 111SP and the 3572 heal proc, to equip
Flow of Knowledge
?

Congrats on reaching 1700 so fast. As for your amount of resilence, it depends on how much resilence you already have. At your current status I would say the resilence trinket is a better choice. I have yet to encounter situations in which my 1880 +heal (with imbue) has been an issue in terms of how much healing I can put out.
However in comparison to yourself I have 980 resilence, and 20700 hp, and my partner has 900 res as well and about 21k hp (warlock). The more resilence you and your partner shove on, the less healing you have to do in the first place.
At my current level, I am starting to stack on SP and stamina, as this has less of a diminishing return then resilence. See how much resilence you are comforable with, then mix and match. I found after about 800 resilence the difference in damage taken was noticeable, but not as much after that point.
A good idea to is mix elemental/resto gear for two +50 res bonuses, the grounding totem set bonus is less versatile. Doing this may make your need for resilence through other means less.
GL in the arena.
