I'm making a new character on a completely new realm, so i was wondering if somebody could tell me what two professions would be easy to train and make me the most money?

Doesn't mean it can't be done.
But any of the gathering professions (mining, herbalism, skinning) is a good choice for a new toon on a new server.

You should take up skinning as one and for the next, you need to think about the character race that you are going to create first. I noticed that for a Night Elf, the starting zone is better for herbs.
When you start off as a Night Elf, you are not going to find any nodes to mine in that secluded island...

But walking around spamming that button all the time will probably get annoying after a little while
FWIW, I have two toons that use that macro. I have it tied to a keystroke, and just press it at different times. As you get accustomed to herbing and mining you get a better sense of where to find herbs and where to find ores. Then you get a better sense of when to toggle the macro.
The main benefit of mining/herbing (and not skinning) is that you only have to worry about travel time, and not killing mobs. Then again, my herb/mining toons are my hunter and DK so I can sic my pet on any guarding mob while I do my gatherin'.
Having said that, I do have a toon that has mining/skinning, and it is quite nice to
not
hit the macro. It's also nice when people are doing the Nessingwary quests in Sholozar (and looting their kills). Free skins!

Maybe you don't know how, but it can be done very easily.
/castsequence find herbs, find minerals
Put that on an easily spammable button. Mine is on mouse wheel up.
And a bit more advanced:
/run for i=1,GetNumTrackingTypes() do local n, t, a, c = GetTrackingInfo(i); if string.find(n, "Find") then if t~=GetTrackingTexture(i) then SetTracking(i); end end end
edit: But I'd say skinning/mining is better.
