In Laihendi's town there was a charter amendment voted on to take away anti-discrimination protection for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. Guess who it was being pushed by? Christian extremists. Luckily it didn't pass, but 42% still voted in favor of it, which is too close for comfort.
Here's what would happen if it had passed
Homosexuals and transgenders could legally be fired simply because of sexuality.
It would be legal to harass someone (phone, real life, email, anything) because of their sexuality.
It would be legal to not allow homosexuals or transgenders into certain shops and other similar places.
This is why Laihendi is chiefly concerned with Christianity. No other religion has that much impact in his life.
In other countries homosexuals are killed for thier sexuality. That's 'extremism'.

So basically it's okay to discriminate against homosexuals/transgenders as long as you don't kill them?

Edit: This just happened less than a week ago, by the way.
Laihendi, I don't mean to offend you in any way by this, I just want to know. If I was able to make you straight ( not saying I could, just theoretically) would you accept, or refuse?

you know in the dark ages, christians and muslims were both evil... they both had crusades to kill eachother. to bad they didn't wipe eath other out... now it is just a small part of the jihaed causing death and mayham and all the christians being closed minded... and persecuting...
Do not talk about things you know little about, you have got it all wrong, so stop saying non sense.

Well what you said wasn't worded very well, so it could be taken to mean multiple things :x

Refuse, because that would fundamentally change who Laihendi is :-/

I'm saying that instead of being really really hateful toward those who are so 'extreme' maybe you can show that "Hey closeminded people, we aren't realy really hateful".... Maybe take that first step toward the truce. What I was saying above is that the homosexual community is foaming at the mouth with anger toward how awful Christians treat them, but out of the whole world, the Christian leaning nations are the most hospitible place. Of course Christian nations are not perfect, and have thier fair share of bigots, racists, ect. All I am saying is that you should also keep an open and kind mind if you want to make progress, or you might turn into this:
all the christians are being closed mindedIronic statement of the year.

I feel the need to slap someone. :(
Srsly, 42%? Are they %^&*ing insane? It's because Christians make an overwhelming majority in this town, and while not all christians support it, there were still enough there to make it possible. On the other hand, homosexuals/transgenders are obviously a minority, and since they're the only ones affected by this, they're the only ones who will reliably vote against something like that. The majority of voters just don't care.

ashelmy... you can correct me... please. so far you just say im stupid with out proof... you got no idea what i was taught...
Call me ash or ashes. Wall of text incoming.
The crusaders invaded Muslim lands Slaughtering all who stood in their way. When they managed to take Jerusalem, they mercilessly Slaughtered the Muslims there, women, children, everyone, some even say they killed Christians who didn't believe in the same things as them, I am not sure about that. they took the guise of religion to invade our lands and steal our goods.
The Muslims, however, were not like that. We would send letters to other countries, asking them to be a part of the Islamic nation, they would refuse, and usually started preparing for war. We had to defend ourselves. After we managed to enter a city or country, we were not allowed to fight anyone who didn't carry a weapon. No children, women, old men, or even unarmed men were ever harmed. We didn't even burn down trees. We then proceeded to rule said city/country applying Islamic law, and giving people the choice to enter Islam. If they didn't want to, they had to pay a sort of tax ( cause Islamic armies defended them, so it was only fair), If someone was poor couldn't pay it, they were exempted from it.
Sorry about the wall of text and any English mistakes, I just hate to see people say anything wrong about my religion).

Sorry, but a sperm cell inside of an egg cell with a few stem cells isn't a human.
