Nice. Very, very nice. What is your main font?
In response to making a UI guide: my mentioning of such a guide was a sarcastic remark; a mistake on my part. I do realize that there would be far too much subjectivity involved to make a competent guide. However, a guide that showed various UI designs and their pros and cons--I don't think that would be so bad.
As for opaque bottom bars, I did not know the world scaled as described by several users. Such a design now seems much more interesting when you account for the space actually gained instead of lost. What AddOns make this scaling possible?

I liked your UI. It is simple and clean and nothing wrong with it.

Sorry, I was referring to the chat, name, and tooltip fonts. I guess they aren't really the main font, but the names were largest, so I went with that as the main font.
Achera, sorry if i was rude if you were just being sarcastic. I use skinner. i also like to change my zoom with /console cameraDistanceMaxFactor 4. it gives it a very nice widescreen look. you might like it, might not, give it a try.
No offense taken. I'd have to make some major changes to my UI, but that's what WTF_BACKUP is for!

How can you play with such a chaotic UI?

THIS...IS......DISGUSTING! (Sparta ;P)
Font for it is terrible. Unit frames are...different.
But the action bars. WTF!

Here's something I've been working on for a while.
Chillin'
Killin'
(Raiding to come soon)
Addons:
-KgPanels
-Pitbull
-Bartender
-ButtonFacade
-Prat
-Chinchilla
-SLDT
-MikScrollingBattleText
-Rogue Power Bars
-Rogue Focus Classic
-Quartz
-Omen
-Satrina Buff Frame (although I think I'm going back to Buffalo)
The Micro menu is there for convenience. I've actually changed it's behavior since I took the screenies, to make it fade out to 0% alpha. So it's there, but you never really see it anymore. I'll take another screenie on Tuesday on our next Naxx run. Hopefully I'll have some time to tweak the layout in raid (which is hard to get just right when you're not actually in a full raid group.
One quick question though - anyone have any idea why PitBull isn't showing my poison debuffs properly? If you take a look
here
, you can see that there's a garrote debuff on the target, but no deadly poison. I've noticed this with Wound Poison as well. although the crippling poison from
Deadly Brew
does
appear on the debuff list.
I was also under the impression that you can make Pitbull show your debuffs larger than all the other active debuffs on the target - any tips on where to find this setting?
(Before anyone says anything, Grid is there from beforehand - I need to either use it, or Pitbull for party/raid frames.)
Comments and questions welcome. =)
Hey, I'm new to UI's but I really like what you did. I've been playing around with some of the addons but I can't get anything like that. Do you mind telling me how you did it?

Pretty simple actually - but I'll explain in steps.
Start with Chinchilla - adjust the settings to get rid of all the extra text and unnecessary information. Then move the buttons around and shove it in the corner.
Satrina Buff Frames - pretty self explanitory once you look at the options.
Pitbull - same deal here - just move them to where you like to see them.
The lower area took some tweaking to get right. I started with KgPanels and created three panels. The two on the side have a simple horizontal gradient (switching the from/to on the two sides) and then the middle one just has a standard background. They're all set to use the Blizzard Tooltip texture.
Inside the middle panel goes Bartender. The two bars in the middle are pretty easy to do, and the two on either side are just set to 4 items per row. Stance bars, micro menu, and bag bars go right above the upper "main" bar.
SLDT gives the information under the bars. Pick and choose the modules you want to keep.
Rogue Power Bars is the buff/debuff timer that you see in the "Killin" shot. It's considered out of date, but just force it to load and it should be fine. I use it on my rogue and my DK without any troubles so far.
Rogue Focus Classic is the energy and combo point meter in the middle of the screen. I need to see if I can make/find a skin for it, since it kinda sticks out like a sore thumb compared to everything else
Omen is set to the Blizzard Dialog Background and Blizzard Tooltip border
The best way to figure out the UIs is to play with the options. KgPanels definitely took some searching on the web to figure out though (at least for me).

My UI:

I prefer a minimalist approach to my UI. Hate it when tons of addons cover half the screen.
