Just create an image with a size that is equal to a power of 2 (ie. 2,16,32,128,256 etc.) and upload it. I am still messing around with it however so I don't know too much on the subject.

Really nice. Very helpful. Was wondering how you get the name of the frames :)

I did as he said, opened a file in Photoshop and removed its background making in transparent.
But when I try to enable it around my SexyMinimap as a border, it wont show up.

someone is actually recommending Sexymap? I think my eyes just imploded
which is prolly why i can't see anything anymore.
save peoples eyesight, do not recommend Sexymap. Simplemap or rMinimap + MinimapButtonBag is ALOT better, srsly
Edit: woops wrong quote brackets
Sexymap is really nice depending how you use it. It has quite a few options to play around with. Showing buttons on hover, or never. Built In border controls. Different things. I would never recommend the crazy blue skins and whatnot however. I like the simple square skin. Like
this
. Don't say something is bad without knowing all the facts of said something.

Make the border as a kgpanel, use the macro stated in the video to find the unit frame name, in this case it would be Minimap. and just parent/anchor the panel to the mini map and scale it properly.

dont get me wrong, it looks pretty, nice functionality but i just dont like the memory consumption on something that alone just does the same exact things Chinchilla Simplemap and rMinimap can do on a more well designed scale. as for showing buttons on hover, I would imagine having an organized form or list for your minimap buttons would be a better approach then having it all BLAH'd on your minimap. having it hide is like trying to throwing a rug over a mess. as for SimpleMinimap's default I really like it, but I use rMinimap personally, its just too sexy to let go of lol
Your reasonings between the two posts are completely opposite. Either way, my minimap has two things on it that show when I mouse over it. Minimap button because I just like it there. And item-rack. Organized, not a rug over a mess. The memory consumption is higher than SimpleMiniMap because SimpleMinimap has pretty much nothing to it. SMM lets you scale, hide buttons completely or not at all, hide zone tag, and gives a couple skins.
If you compare SimpleMiniMap with SexyMap, it's like SpartanUI vs Pitbull+Bartender.

I personally can't stand it when the bottom middle of the screen is cluttered. I'm also not a fan of some of the fonts the pre-made UI's have.
Here's my UI:

All of the addons have been tweaked, although many are still relatively close to their original settings. I have updated it slightly since the shot was taken - I've switched back to Pitbull.
It still needs some further tweaking (curses in Grid for some reason just blank out the person's name).
It's also not currently showing my target frame, which sits in a top-middle position, and is about 1.5x the length of the player frame (same height).

I'm in the process of making a very flexible UI, one that I can hopefully use in all 6 environments of play in WoW: Leveling, PvP Healing, PvP DPS, Raid Healing, Raid DPS, and Raid Tanking. My general school of thought is that there should have to be no modifications when switching from one of these rolls to another. The default version of the UI should provide as much information as necessary, in a minimalistic fashion, will retaining all the functionality you want for min/maxing the above six roles.
It's still very much a work in progress, but I have some preliminary shots:
Clean
|
Targets
I should have a raid shot after tonight, and I'll try to label everything on it. My only question as of right now is how to remove the colored borders on Pitbull's buff/debuff auras.
Any thoughts, comments, questions, and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
What minimap mod are you using?
Chinchilla. The text to the right of it is SLDataText.
