MyTie aren't you all for government staying out of people's lives? If so, then why do you think an international organization should force millions of people to live the rest of their lives on an island?
Yet another problem I have with my own idea. Very good Laihendi.

So it has already mutated before to the point where people died off faster then the could spread it? This just supports the "We need to get &*!@ done NOW" course of action. Hell if it's been done once it can happen again and if or when it does it could be 1000x worse, tis the nature of infectious disease.
Not such a good arguement. By this logic, we should isolate everyone who sneezes.

Your idea is following the same concept, and it's just as inhumane.

Disease quarentine is NOT the same idea as the holocaust.

Disease quarentine is NOT the same idea as the holocaust.
Your idea is to force people (regardless of whether they want to or not) to spend the rest of their lives on some island.
What if they didn't get the proper medical treatment they needed? What if the governments decided it was cheaper to just let them die, rather than spend decades paying for their medicine, food, and other expenses? They couldn't complain, they live in the middle of nowhere, it wouldn't be difficult at all to completely cut off their communication with the rest of the world. No one living in the rest of the world would care about them enough to make sure they were treated the way they deserved, because no one cares about a problem that exists thousands of miles away on an isolated island.
And above all else, it wouldn't be fair to them because it would show that the world had given up on them, and wanted them to leave. It wouldn't be fair for them to know that everyone had given up on finding a way to make them healthy again, and was waiting for them to die.

Bad comparison/arguement on your part.
The difference between my idea of quarentineing AIDS and your idea of quarentineing anyone with any virus, is that you are insane. That is all.

What if...Again, you're right. There is a possiblity of this idea screwing up. It has many flaws. I'll be the first to admit it. However, disease quarentine isn't the holocaust. I don't think I need to explain that further.

I'm insane because I want to quarentine those with a HIGHLY infectious disease? Then the CDC is a nuthouse.
Keep in mind I said in my original post that such actions would be taken in the event of a turn for the worse.
What it sounds like you are saying is that any virus with the potential to mutate needs to be quarentined. That is ridiculous. If you have additions to the list of viruses, then name them. But, you sound crazy when you start crying out for "action to be done" before nameless "viruses mutate into airbore killers". While I agree with you to a degree, caution has to be exercised that we don't completely loose our sanity and sense of humanity by trying to kill viruses.

I'm not being overly paranoid, im promoting a more progressive course of action. Something that will work if it came down to it. How is that illogical.Lunacy called progress is still lunacy. Quarentineing everyone that sneezes is lunacy.
