Not to stir the pot... but if you wanted to "Really" do vanillia, you would start a seperate account and only install the first game. this would cut off going to outlands and gearing up there... additionally, you dont need /xp off if you did this. and even though you could Buy stuff from OL on the AH, it's still not like all your Pallys will have the Fel-Reaver or anything like that =)....
But I Love old world content - and I will most likely have a few toons running the old stuff with the "Real" danger out there...
goodluck.

Good to know that so many people are AGAINST others trying to have a little ^&*!ing FUN in a game.

As I continued to read down through the thread I was amazed at some of the reactions. Crazy. It seemed like people were personally offended. The guy is just making a point that he's excited about a new feature coming out. yeesh. I actually had no idea about this feature, so the fact that it was even pointed out is rad.
Sometimes the game can feel like a very linear experience. I think it sounds great that someone is taking a step off that track for the sake of fun. It may sound completely UN-fun for others, but for this guy it's "refreshing". Do what you want. It sounds exciting. It reminds me of a dream of mine to join an all-troll, non-rp guild. No reason. Seems fun. And doesn't that make it worth everything?

I'd love to give 60 content a go with new class mechanics/talents.

Honestly NOT doing something like this would be like someone becoming rich and famous and not visiting their hometown because they think they're too good for it...
Just my opinion
^ i agree with this ^
good luck to you! it sounds fun (despite everyone saying how hard it will be and talent changes blah blah blah)
i hit 70 on my first toon about 2 months before wrath came out and after experiencing heroics and raids in wrath, wish i could have been involved with them back in BC and Vanilla (i did play pre-BC, but not to 60, left and came back towards the end of BC)
so needless to say, i would totally do this with a BC-based guild.
(and who says you have to level to 60 in outlands? O.o back in the day it was Silithus and EPL...)

No, I will not replay Vanilla WoW in endgame terms. I was there "back in the days", and to be honest I thought of quitting soon after dinging 60. I didn't fancy the idea of grinding 24/7 to prepare for the raids and grouping with 39 others were terribly slow, dull and boring. Not to mention that I found MC to be terribly boring. I think it all looks pretty much the same; a large, red cave.
I know there are lots out there who revers vanilla-wow as something divine, but it just didn't click for me. As a result I leveled up many alts instead, since at my 60 main I felt I had nothing to do. The good thing about this though is that I have a healthy stable of chars to choose from =D
This is my opinion and I stick with it. Have fun though if you are going through with it.
TL:DR No.
