Currently leveling on a PvP server, I love and hate ganking. While leveling in Northrend, I've killed a few lvl 80's, and a few equally level toons too. I usually don't attack on sight, but if they are running towards me / attacking me, then I'll stop and fight.
In my first Gundrak group, we were attacked by a lvl 80 group outside, at the summoning stone. Killed them all, only a paladin was a little hard. Started to get me worried, if this is the case at the Naxx / Ulduar summoning stone.
As for ganking lowbies, then I've only done it once. I was level 40, and a group of 30-33 kept following me. Turned around, killed them, but they kept attacking me. That's just asking for trouble.

I need to do some ganking. I've been ganked loads in my time yet I never inflict the pain on others. It's like rights of passage for the 'younger' toons, they need to experience it, I need to inflict it.
note to self, start ganking and stop being so nice

I play on an RPPvP server. Unless special circumstances dictate otherwise, I do not attack players of the other faction. I
never
camp.
What special circumstances? If I'm attacked first, or if someone (player or not) of my faction is attacked, I respond. If it's a fair fight, I'll just tip the scales in my allies' favour (a simple healing spell if I'm a healer usually does the trick). If two people are attacking a player of my faction, I help as best I can.
If I encounter someone within two levels of me (and during leveling, this happens often enough), this is why I play on a PvP realm. If I'm a stealther I'll gank them mercilessly (but never corpse camp, and I usually /salute the corpse if I manage before he releases). It's an RP realm after all. Anyone else, I'll attack openly.
I think corpse camping is wrong, and I'll never do it myself. I will have words with any of my friends who do it. Getting your fun through the frustration of someone else is fairly disturbing. "They could just not play the game, or roll on a non-PvP server." Kids play this game. Would you verbally abuse a passing nine-year-old just because you could? Take his toy from him? If the law said you were in your good right to do it?
I love the ethical conundrums that occur, and the temptation for doing ill. That's how I feel superior to others. It's slightly less disruptive than the other way. I want to be a part of breaking the circle of "I got ganked, therefore I gank." It's a terribly childish way of thinking to my mind. A does evil to B. Then B does evil to C. The 'revenge' is not even directed at the right person. How could that be justified?
Oh well... Have fun gaming, whichever way you play.

I don't agree with camping, that just sucks. When I was starting out, I had a level 15 toon who was camped by an 80 for about an hour. I just sat as a ghost for much of it but it took him ages to go. He'd run off for a bit and when I ressurected, he'd come back and bash me up again. First time was ok, the 10th + was a bit much.

If you're fighting fair... you're doing it wrong.
Your main is a rogue isn't it =P
The only rogue I have has been stuck at lvl 20 for a loooong time.

Sort of ganked my first person last night. I was mearly running about, in an alliance place, flagged for PVP (as does happen) and came across a lowly Human. I didn't completely kill him off, but I thought I'd cast a small DoT spell on him to keep him on his toes.
Felt a bit bad about it really.

I love world PvP. The possibility of players of the opposite faction trying to kill you anytime adds some spice to playing this game. Nothing feels better than getting ganked by an alli and still being able to kill the mobs and the alli.
On my warlock alt i got ganked repeatedly by a warrior 3 lvl higher than me and always killed him. Then he called for help and got a paladin 4 lvl higher than me to help him. Yes, together they managed to gank me sucessfully with "spit" and "lol" but inside i was smiling on what suckers they are to boast about such an unfair fight.
All my "Killed by enemy players" so far came from groups or lvl skull (?) alliance players while i never killed one that was grey to me.
My rules for World PvP:
1.Dont kill players 5 or more lvl below you unless they are asking for it.
2. It is perfectly fine to gank (attack him while he is fighting some mob) if a) they are "stealing" your quest mobs" and b) they are orange, red or skull (?) to you...the lvl advantage should offset the disadvantage of being ganked, so the fight is still "fair".
3. If someone is passing you with /wave or /salute do not attack them.

I play a prot warr, and i feel kinda op 1v1 even though im not good at pvp, so i usually just try to gank other tanks. I also gank all dks and lvl80 ret pallys i see, but thats more out of spite than because its a fun fight (skilled and geared rets can be challenging though)
Other classes i keep an eye on if they are close, but i leave them alone unless they attack me first.
