Awesome guide! But none of the macros work for me... I tried the NSHT macro and tried several times but just could not get it to work, all it would do was cast NS and take me out of tree form, no HT. Also, can someone explain to me how a mouseover macro works? I tried to make that and it didn't do anything. The macro for power shifting needs to be altered to say
/cancelform
/cast Cat Form
Or if you want.
/cast Regrowth
/cancelcast
/cast Cat Form

NSHT macro only works if you aren't moving when casting it.

I don't remember if that ability is modified in wotlk or not, but currently cower only works against a single target (ie you have to target the mob), costs energy to activate, can be resisted, has a 10s cooldown, and only drops something like -1200 threat.
ie it takes a lot of time and doesn't drop threat very fast.
The problem with that is that by the time you can cower (ie ~3s without furor, 1 GCD and 1 energy tick + reaction time), the mob has already caught up, so you'd have to run away too (which as you should know is very bad, you don't want to run away from the tank).
The tank on the other hand has good ways to build a lot of agro quite fast.
In the end it's better to shift to bear to survive 1-2 more hits and run towards the tank so that he can build up agro rather than staying in the fragile cat form hoping to lose agro through cower.

Hello Nab,
Great post! I am a starting Druid resto healer since the invation of the Dk's :)) Before i was a tank, but we seem to have enough form them.
I also was looking for an up to date talent tree to get me started, but most of the information seems to be for older version of Wow. I hope some one else has more luck with finding some up to date (v3+) information and could possibly share it with me and the group.
Thanks to anybody who has any suggestions!

Your guide is fantastic and I will be making very good use of it. I wasn't entirely certain before but now I am very happy that I've chosen to be a resto druid. They are amazing healers. I'm lucky enough to be running her with a long time player using a druid feral tank/healer. He is excellent at tanking and teaching me how to heal him properly (once I got high enough he weaned me off Healing Touch) and your guide will make me a better healer for it.
I was really scared about instances (have only done 2) but now I'm looking forward it after realising just what my druid is capable of doing.
I feel kind of stupid now for walking around in tree form and healing my tank during quests for about 3 hours after I got it, but I was so excited to get it and I love how it looks when it walks!
