Here's a post by GC on blue tracker that jediah found for another thread in the paladin forums. It looks like the cleave from SoComm won't proc of HotR, only the normal pre-3.2.2. damage. SoComm will probably remain a lousy seal for tanking then, if I'm reading this right, because prot's only attack capable of proccing it will be an auto-attack on a fast (compared to most two handers) one hander, whereas ret at least gets CS and a nice, slow weapon.

The RF nerf hurts a little
I kinda disagree. I'm
this
,
bearly
holding threat againt
this
.
Compare the overall value and level of the gear. I haven't have any problems - not on trash, not on bosses. No, she's not slacking - not that I can't slack either.
2 piece T7
and
2 piece T8
combined with
Seal of Vengeance

If I see anyone try to tank with soc I will hurt their face off.
Unless their job is to aoe tank adds then it might just be a shiny new spell since it might proc on each mob smacking every other mob your HoR missed? Wishful thinking from an add tank though.
Not really planning to waste a talent point in a seal that's only mildly useful for trash.
Agreed, my spec doesn't give much room for changes.

If the loss of 1% crit is enough that you can't hold aggro as a paladin, you're doing it wrong. I won't try to argue that boss tanking shouldn't be your primary concern, but really, losing an almost negligible amount of a so-so stat for a spell that should make trash tanking much easier isn't that bad of a trade.

seal of command should hit 3 targets instead of 2...
and the judgement damage is WAYYY TOO WEAK!
you need to re read it it says "This ability now chains to strike up to 2 additional targets when it is triggered by an attack."
thats 3 attack the one you are hiting then it hit 2 OTHER targets.
see thats not so hard 1+2=3 afterall

They nerfed prot so paladin healers can't have any versatility in PvP, and didn't even touch the nerfed to hell/broken holy tree that can't out heal anything in PvP.
Resto Druid-"My dps partners suck, but I can heal forever, so it's OK."
Disc priest/resto shaman-"My dps partners suck, but I can assist with offensive dispels and burst."
Holy paladin-"My dps partners suck, therefore I die in about 20 seconds after I bubble because I heal less than the other classes, have to cast all my heals(interupts and stunlocks FTW!....), and my regen gives me a self imposed healing debuff that forces me to heal more than any other healer, and therefore completely eats all that regen because I have to heal for way more. Oh, and my one party healing gimmick costs 1600 mana, is DISPELLABLE, and makes a really loud noise that says "Purge required right here, look for the guy that flashes with every noise.""
Blizzard really needs to get a clue. Especially since they already killed 2v2, making prot healing only viable in what, 3 3v3 team comps?
This is so true... Why exactly is Blizz thinking of changing Touched by the Light? Prot pallys having TOO MUCH SP? This is aimed directly at prot healers in PvP (given prot healing is not viable in raids). Let's face it, the Holy tree SUCKS for pvp. It's been so nice not getting crushed in the first 30 seconds of arenas.

I'm not a tank, so I'm speaking purely from a Retribution side of things. This Seal change screams pure Rettribution DPS more than Prot to me. I'd imagine the last thing Prot Palas needed more help with was AoE Tanking.
All DPS parses so far show SoComm to not only be good for trash, but also for some boss fights with AoE where we are currently lacking.
Personally, I never run with
Divine Sacrifice
in my Ret spec. I'm there to DPS and that's what my focus is on. Having to balance the use of Avenging Wrath around when DS might be needed as well as the loss of dps seems counter intuitive alot of the time, also no matter what you drop a point from in order to get it you will miss that point on some fights. I prefer to keep DS in my Holy build leaving my Ret free to DPS.
I'm no expert, I tend to follow what Elitist Jerks suggest. I've done the same with all classes/specs I've played and it's never failed me yet.
In 3.2 I've been using
5/10/56
and it's working very well.
For 3.2.2 I expect I'll use something like
5/9/57
which will give me SoComm with Zero impact on DPS (according to Rawr anyway).
I have no idea about Tanking though.....

It'll break prot healing completely. At the moment prot healers are wearing holy gear, which has no strength on it whatsoever. If they switch to wearing prot or ret gear for the strength, they'll have no mana whatsoever.

Protection healers were never meant to exist. Hence the change.
