. . . and they seem to have a penchant for some Azeroth-shattering "oops" moments.

I may have skipped over this as I read through this thread. But no one has pointed out that if you watch the trailer when they're introducing the worgen they mention that the Forsaken are waging war on them. That's why they joined the Alliance. So way to go Undead. Screwed the Horde again.

Well i think Dwarf shammies accsly fit, partlye due to the Earthern or whatever they are called again.
Troll Druids, remember Zul'Aman? Even though its kind of shamanism fused with the animal spirits a druid is more or less like that...
Nelf going mage, no idea, Tauren Pala well..., Gnome Priest well kind of makes sense
As i see it a such wide variety of class/race combos offers a whole new experience to the whole RPG part, ur supposed to play an individual and who say that a Troll cant become a druid? or a NElf a mage, as long as you could come up with a small background for your char to explain why your char chose this unusual path its all ok i guess...

"Enough of this nonsense. We've been foolish to completely separate ourselves from the power of the arcane. Magic isn't evil. Evil is in the intent. Not the tool. Magic is in our blood. It's in every elf's essence. Who better to wield the arcane than an Elf? We have lain dormant in our grottoes and vales. While the enemy has grown stronger. Now is not the time to cling to ill-conceived resolutions. The humans... HUMANS wield magic and proclaim themselves to be masters of the arcane. We will show Azeroth what it means to be masters of magic."
Bravo! This sounds
exactly
like something the Night Elves would say to justify a return to the Arcane.

I keep reading that dwarves have historic with shamanism.I am pretty sure that dwarves have NOTHING to do with shamanism. Can someone give me a quote-link or whatever that proves dwarves have a historic with shamanism?I searched the whole wowwiki, the whole net , the warcraft 2 details , i really can't find anything.
The only "magic"i know dwarves are using its the holy and dark ones , and that means priests.Dwarves are more-like fighters and thats all, almost no use of magic.

Wildhammer dwarves are feral and untamed, prone to revelry, shamanism and daring acts of bravery (and stupidity). They eschew technological gadgets in favor of nature magic and straightforward weapons, including their famous stormhammers.
The Wildhammer are one of the three major clans of Dwarves in Azeroth, the other two being the Bronzebeard (the playable Dwarven race) and the Dark Iron (of BRD fame). The Wildhammer are not part of the Alliance, but given that they were driven out of Grim Batol, their ancestral home, during the war of the dragons, and displaced by Deathwing, it makes sense that they would be willing to teach their brethren how to command the elements to aid in their vengeance against the corrupted Earth Aspect.
* I say only three because the Iron Dwarves are a relatively new creation, made by Loken using the Forge of Wills to displace and make war upon the Earthen of Northrend.

Yes ,even if i accept that still you wrote it, Wildhammer clan is the only dwarf clan that uses gadgets in favor of nature magic and shamanism, the playable race is not Wildhammer but Bronzebeard. You get my point i hope.

It's amusing how people feel they have they have the right to contradict Blizzard on their own lore
Blizzard has contradicted there own lore dozens of times. Need I remind you how it was suggested that all draenei/Eredar were evil to start with and corrupted Sergeras?

So were all orcs. Lore evolves, it's not something static.
Actually Lore is something static. Its a written story, when you reach the end of it , of course you can continue, but you cant change it in the middle in the cause of money
