Obama's speech was good because he is the first president in years to actually speak to the students about their educations.
Also, I support government healthcare as an option instead of private health care, because it stops people from going uninsured and still allows people to decide to get private health care if they wish to have better coverage.
Mediator, you have to pay medical bills anyways unless you decide to go uninsured, which is a really bad idea, because, then, if you get sick, you don't have insurance and will have a hard time getting treated. No matter what, you will probably be paying money so that you have insurance, the only thing obama is doing is providing a cheaper, government run option that provides lower health care for everyone.
Most health insurance companies will give you better rates (or more coverage) if you are healthier. In a socialized system, the low-risk people will be forced into the same pool as the high-risk people (well, depending on how they implement such a system) and will have to pay a lot more than they should to cover those who are more likely to have to have medical treatment. Or hell, more than likely a lot of us will be having to pay money to cover other people for a plan that we will likely never end actually needing (since most people would still want to continue having private health insurance so we can get treated by the best doctors possible).

This reared its head during my news surfing.
How many liberal and conservative ideals does this violate? I lost count. But I doubt liberals will fail to defend the action.

I wonder, if we were to dig, if we would find similar actions done during the period of GWB's presidency.
Let us draw a parallel to religion. I send my children (because I have been ingrained in such a way as to trust the institution known as religion) to become a part of that religion. If, why, and how is that any less sickening than the news article?

I send my children (because I have been ingrained in such a way as to trust the institution known as religion) to become a part of that religion. If, why, and how is that any less sickening than the news article?Because it would be your choice, as a parent to send your child to that. I doubt these kids had parental slips before singing the hymns to our dear leader. But I'm glad you think the origional actions are sickening.
