I gotta say that i think its weird that so many people dont like hellfire and barrens.
i love barrens and hellfire, seriously, barrens is my favorite zone, then hellfire and then borean tundra...
i think its mostly my expierences i made in barrens when i played the first time wow (as horde - i rerolled alliance a looong time ago)
its just really nice to go back there sometimes, just to look at it and remember fun things i did there...
Well, actually the starting area from durotar is the best, because i remember how i created my orc on a friends account, and i hit a few mobs, and when i saw the big gate that leads outside of that valley of trials, it was like a big world was open to me, waiting to be discovered, and when i looked on the big map and i noticed how big actually kalimdor was, i was overwhelmed (i didnt even know about eastern kingdoms)
Back then i just had a whole different view from wow, now i miss the feeling when you discover "new" stuff, i nearly know everything,(saw all the zones already, know all the interface options, know what all classes can do and so on..)
its not that interesting anymore, i do alot of pvp and just dont care about the landscape anymore, i dont care about details anymore, and i dont know how that will ever interest me again, all i know is that i kinda miss that feeling when i opened that map and saw how much i could explore....
anyone else understands what im trying to say?
(wow was my very first MMORPG too...)
I think its the same with hellfire and borean tundra, theyre the first zones of the expansions, thats why i spent the most time there and i just loved the expansion + that zone.
After the first zone the new expansion its not that exciting anymore.
And if you ask me about my most "hated" zones, ill probably list just the zones i barely leveld in, because i just love wow and i like every bit of it :P
So my least favorite zones are the ones i barely got to know
:
Blade edge mountains, Shadowmoon valley, Icecrown, half of the northern eastern kingdoms countries (plaguelands, bloodelf area, undead area)
btw, i wonder if actually anyone cares about what i write...

5. Azhara - Leveled a hunter during Vanilla WoW. Countless giants and falling off cliffs and the worst quest ever. FP is nowhere close to useful. Would take me hours of running pulling too many, feigning death and trying to survive to make it through this place.
4. Thousand Needles - Does anyone even quest here anymore? I hate the run when you are alliance, you get lost constantly, and if you dare quest at the race grounds, well, lets just say hard to hide from a higher level when all you got is open ground. If you have died here you know the run. Trust me Barrens ain't got nothing on the can't autorun in this freaking zoo to my body.
3. Warsong Gulch - Okay I know its a bg, but come on if you play alliance, at lower levels or get stuck in the random pug group where half the group is from an rp server, well you are in for one long frustrating death march.
2. Loch Modan - first leveled a hunter dwarf. There are some places I never want to see again.
1. Dustwallow Marsh - 3700000000000000 deaths later after wasting all my time trying to get back to my body after death. Numerous pvp deaths, not to mention you can't really run away from someone because everything can spot you. Spiders and crocs who chase you for miles, and flying dragons who slow you down long enough for some freaking rogue to kill you. Then when you get back to your body you can't rez because there are too many things with in range of you. HATE THIS PLACE!
I enjoyed TBC's places and still randomly go back to have fun there. I hate Storm Peaks, but that's because I spent hours doing repetitve quests there, and the music is awful.

1. STV. A complete waste of time trying to level there. Only ever managed it on one server out of three. On one server I was level 36 in STV for 3 days due to the ganking - it was nearly impossible to even turn in a quest. Went to Desolace and hit 40 that day.
2. Hellfire Peninsula. Hate the mobs, hate the quests, hate the ganking welcome wagon from bored level 70+.
3. Blade's Edge Mountains. Horrible, horrible place. Ugly.
4. Zul'Drak. Mobs have an aggro range of the entire freaking zone. Hate the quests.
5. Icecrown. Too dark, too ugly, too many damned mobs! Honest to god, if you're a clothie who mines, forget the ones around the mobs on the ground. I died three times trying to get one node and get away. Pointless zone.

All of the votes for Stranglethorn Vale should be rejected if you people can't give a reason for hating it other than complaining that you get ganked there a lot.
PvP happens on PvP servers. It's what you signed up for. Just because all of the a--holes hang out in one spot is no reason to hate
the zone
.
Uh... yes it is. What give's you the right to tell other people what they can and cannot think about something? If I get constantly ganked somewhere (yes, even on a PvP server), I'm not going to like it. Dumbass.
Poor baby. Somebody disagrees with your opinion. Do you need to change your tampon?
Regarding opinions, you don't have any business telling people not to express theirs, which was all I was doing.
Also, learn to use an apostrophe, idiot.
Actually, you were insisting that everbody's opinion of STV was invalid. Then in your second post you tell someone else that they have no business insisting your opinion was invalid, and that they can't, even though you did that yourself in your first post.
Also, how would changing tampons help?

I do like all of the zones as well, but I have a few that can get annoying for their own reasons:
Azeroth
1. Durotar. This place is awesome because of Orgrimmar, but questing there is no fun at all. I have nightmares about rolling orcs or trolls.
2. Ashenvale, but only horde side. It just annoys me how all the quests are so spread out, AND you have to maneuver around all the alliance outposts.
3. Ferelas. I can never get into questing in this zone, either faction.
Outlands
I actually love all the zones in outlands, although I've never quested in SMV beyond netherwing rep, so I'm not really sure about that zone. I really like HfP, actually, the sky looks so cool and it's a perfect outland starting zone. Plus, now with heirlooms, you can get to level 65 there easily. And Nagrand is beautiful at night.
Northrend
I really like most of the zones, but I am not favorable towards Icecrown and Grizzy Hills. Neither of them appeal to me very much, especially northern HF. Icecrown looks cool, but I always imagined it being a bit brighter and sharper, and the music makes me want to rip my ears off. My favorite in NR is either BT or Zul'Drak.

it is hard for me to say worst zones, bcs i gotta agree with one of the posters. They all add something to the game, Without any deserts or savanna, would not the game feel less?
Anyways if i gotta pick five, i gonna judge from quests and feelings i think they should improved.
1. Desolace - Seriously this is the worst q zone i seen, you need to run around alot and the centuars are really arseholes. Maruadon is the only think who saves the zone some, but that dungeon is not best in my opinion. Allthough it is fun to kill princess i must say hehe.
2. Azshara - Really lame to be honest, i only really went here to kill the raid boss in Vanilla otherwise the q are mudane and those foking cliffs makes you wanna puke if you fall. Only good thing was the Dukes who was a bit fun, but hell to get too!
3. Ghostlands - Emo elfs, isn't that enough?
4. Stonetalon mountains - Feels unfinished really, and also quest you are doing are really spread and seems not worth the hassel.
5. Ashenvale - Tried it a few times, nothing is probarly wrong with it, but i cannot stand the place. I hated especially it as a horde do a sneaking Night elf comes up and tries to kill you, damn you long ears!
This is my list of least liked zones in a 5 list.
Perhaps one of the few but i kinda dig Tanaris, it is the one zone you really get this sahara feeling, you are a prophet:)

Let's see..
Blasted Lands: Apart from the Dark Portal, there's nothing interesting to look at here. The quests are HORRIBLE. The scenery is boring...Did I say the quests are horrible? By the time you get done collecting a zillion lizard gizzards and hyena brains for Lord Knows What purpose you want to run screaming through the Portal into the arms of a waiting DreadLord. "Deliver me from this place!"
Silithus: Is there a reason for this place? The lore is bizarre and doesn't fit in with the rest of the game. There's PVP but who cares? I say let the other side have it all. The scenery is horrid. We need ANOTHER desert? The sound of the bugs buzzing all the time sets my teeth on edge. I only go there to get a cooking quest and farm ore. The few times I quested there I wanted to fall asleep at my keyboard. It's no wonder that when you go there you are surrounded by questgivers and not much else. It makes the Plaguelands look like paradise.
Terokkar- Some of the quests are great but the squawking Bird Men (alive and dead) drive me nuts and there are TOO MANY quests involving them. I just can't stand those creatures. There are also squawking birds too if you didn't get enough of the Bird Men. After questing out there I want to go outside and stomp on birds just for fun.
Blades Edge-Strip Terokkar of it's trees, add MORE irritating squawking Bird Men, too many Ogres and some awfully dull scenery and you have this place. After the first time I've skipped it every time. Great place to farm adamantite ore though.
Stranglethorn Vale- I know not of ganking, not having played on a PVP server, but the scenery is monotonous and the quests even more so. "You are done killing 30 Trolls? Go kill 25 more". "You have killed 25 tigers? Go kill 25 bears." I guess it's great if you are a skinner. And the quests NEVER end. Another area I skip.
Frankly, I'm surprised by the number of people who dislike Icecrown. Yes, it's ugly and horrifying but it's PERFECT for being the home of the Lich King. Having Arthas live in Sholozar or Grizzly Hills wouldn't be all that plausible, would it? The atmosphere in Icecrown is spot on and reminds of what Mordor would look like in Middle Earth. The quests are challenging and lore-rich. For my Paladin it's downright perfect.
