Just because, again, Wowwiki, which isn't a Blizzard site, says that someone is the "Leader of the Alliance" doesn't make it true. The Alliance is nothing like the Horde, they don't just follow one leader because he says so. They follow their own faction leader's first and foremost.
That's why I said it delt, because Dark is using information off of wowwiki, a fansite and not backed up by blizzard to try to prove a point, saying that Varian is the Alliance Warchief, which doesn't exist.

I want to see Garrosh try to forcibly take the postion of warchief after being excited from his interrupted duel, then Thrall goes elemental on him and thunderstorm knockbacks him through several hundred walls and mountains, 'till he lands in StormWind and smashes Varrian in the face (Note: Not the chin. That wouldn't do anything) snapping his neck and have Jaina take place as the Alliances leader.
Gud 'nuff?

Also, I put you in Varian's shoes, Adams, and you admitted you would act simmilar... try not to show so much emotion on this matter.
Pot calling kettle black.

I did not sugest that Varian is Warchief, I sugested he is the Supreme Allied Commander. If you have been to Wowwiki, you would know how strict Ragestorm is on rumors and he seems to be keeping a close eye on Varian's page; not to mention that its updated almost every day, not to mention Metzen said that at the end of the "kick-ass human"'s adventure, he would become the leader of the Alliance.
I'd like you to show me actual quotes of this stuff instead of just saying "Well he said this, and he said that." I don't consider Varian to be the leader of the Alliance, because there is no such thing. Lothar was leader of the Alliance forces, Turaylon was leader of the Alliance Expedition, Jaina/Kael'thas were leaders/generals of the Alliance armies. But there has never been a "Supreme Commander of the Alliance", because such a thing does not exist in any shape or form for them, as it is an "Alliance" of five, soon to be six, different races all leading together.

No, Thrall does not have the power to knock Garrosh accross Azeroth, not to mention that is terrible story setting. And we have already had Jaina as a leader; few people liked her. Now is the time for a new era... of darkness of Varian.
Of course.
This has never been about Varian with you, has it Darkton? These endless debates of you barrating all over characters in wow to try and make him look better isn't based on you liking him.. its merely about trying to have a stand alone counter argument for all others, choosing a character people don't overly think much of, and using that to try and win some ground for yourself. Its the perfect formula to carry a debate like that.
If this was a genuine case that you thought something of the character, you would show some more diversity to other characters in lore to support it.
It seems everyone else on these lore threads is able to do this, except for you (and I have said about alliance characters I like to so you can't turn it back).

Well, Tides of Darkness gives good examples on how Alliance military works, any race can put someone under Varian's command; then despite not beinging a human; thier fraction would say "Stormwind" or "Valiance Expedition" or any army that he commands. Its called the "Alliance" for a reason; they all have similar goals, and thier has to be someone to lead armys to battle, right?
There has always been someone for lead usually; Terenas anouncced Lothar as "Supreme Allied Commander or the Alliance", on Tides of Darkness, page 75.
After his death, Terenas was described by from Muradin as the Alliances "leader", short and simple as that, in Beyond the Dark Portal. Regein of Chaos also called him the Alliance's "Parton".
After his death, there was no leader; though Jaina seemed to feel worthy for it. Then Varian, trusted by both Lothar and Terenas, came along, bringing the leadership with him... I think..But no one, no combined force of Alliance leaders, have named Varian "Supreme Commander", so that doesn't work like it did for Lothar. He was given command by Terenas, with blessing from the 7 nations, and he gained the allys of the Dwarves and the Elves, but still...... no one has done that for Varian, so if he takes it.... it's just an empty title.

Well, if Skreeran is kind enough, mabye he could show us how dinner with Tyrande, or meetings with Magni went? That's what it's really about, he's too cheap to buy the comics, so he's using Skreeran to show him everything. But I can tell you this now Dark: He didn't have his memory when he dined with Tyrande, so all she knew was that "Le'gosh" and Broll were there, telling her about the cleansing of the Idol. And yes, Magni helps to kill Onyxia, but beyond that, he doesn't say "Oh and lad, I've decided to throw my support behind you and make you 'Supreme Commander'."

My problem is you insulting other WoWhead users, and seeming to think if we dont get into lockstep with your little idea, were all idiots and morons. You've been taking everything way too personally, these are discussions not attacks.
But as I've said, until Blizzard itself says that Captain Chintastic is "Supreme Commander" of the Alliance, I will continue to think the way I do, with the other faction leaders, including the other 2 Bronzebeards and Vereesa to step up, and stop letting the rage-a-holic mess things up for the entire world as he tries to start a meaningless war.

.
I completely agree..
These threads are for disscussion, and if people are too immature to see everyones point of view, or at least NOT FLAME, then they shouldn't post. Going on and on about one leader, and then attacking everyone who doesn't see your point of view is immature. Some people forget that this is all about a video game, and that this isn't a 'this person is better' thread, but a discussion of improvement of leaders.
But yeah, I hope this doesn't turn into another friggin Chin thread, we already have enough of those. So here I go being on topic:
Thrall needs to lay down the freakin' law, especially with Hellscream and the Forsaken. I love my undead buddies, but we got a little carried away with that, and Thrall should go all 'leaderly' on their asses. As with the other Horde leaders, they need to step it up a notch too. I mean threats like Ulduar, the Lich King and Onyxia are out their, and they don't really seem to care. They havn't done anything, and it's quite boring. If I'm going to be playing a tauren, blood elf or troll, I'd like a faction leader I can be proud of.
I can't really say much about the Alliance, although I guess it's the same deal. I think Varian might need some anger management, and Tyrande needs to get her poor Malfurion back. I love Velen, and I wish we could see more of him in power, as well as the High Tinker (thats the gnome.. right? xD) and Magni.
I dunno, I guess that there needs to be an improvement in leadership for everyone.

as well as the High Tinker (thats the gnome.. right? xD)Heh, yeah it is. Hopefully with Gnomer finally be retaken, we'll see more of him and his people... of course Gnomer is on the same side of the coast as where Deepholme is coming up so should be interesting.
