I have an icon for that as well, but it's the Mountain King vs. Blademaster wallpaper for WC3 version.
Also have a concept art of a WC3 shaman for an icon.

aww bro' let a man dream,Feel free to dream all you like, but don't go around saying CAIRNE NOT KILLED CONFIRMED when all you have to base it off of is a picture Samwise drew. It's deceptive.

what I don't understand is WHY did they had to do that to my beloved horde.
I mean sure, on WOTLK the humans had a change of leadership, but that's because they didn't really related well with their current human leader (bolvar) he did had some plp who kinda liked him but not had any burning passion and respect for their leader.
so to fix what was broken, bolvar was removed as leader, and Varian was added, some players like him others dont, but fact remains they set out to add a leader the humans could feel proud to defend and follow and they suceeded.
now with thrall and garrosh........
I jsut don't see why was it needed to do that.
the horde leadership is solid, every horde player loves and respects thrall, heck 80% of the alliance loves and respects thrall as well, this is a leader who we are both proud to follow, and willing to obey, because his actions and personal honor is an example and aspiation we as horde can feel proud to say we have.
we are proud to call him warchief, so why try to fix what's not broken in the first place?
ok that blue-poster hinted that between icecrown citadel, and cataclysm some important stuff will happen that will change garrosh but still the question remains.
if we love thrall so much, and if the situation with our leadership is not broken, then why fix it?
I can't help but have my doubts this will work, I can't quit wow, I guess that's the definiton of the word "vice" but I will say I won't enjoy the game much if thrall is never warchief again, and even if garrosh becomes a more likeable character I still want thrall as our WARCHIEF.
=( I was proud of thrall, I can't and won't be proud of garrosh, no matter how much propaganda and comic/books blizz writes about him.
and why plp insist that the pic is a joke? it looks legit to me.

and why plp insist that the pic is a joke? it looks legit to me.I believe they mean the picture was done "for coolness's sake" and is not necessarily at all indicative of future lore-related plans.

and why plp insist that the pic is a joke? it looks legit to me.I don't think it's a joke. I think it's more "filler." It won't actually happen in-game, but lorewise, it would probably be happening. Thrall and Cairne are both down to earth kinda guys.
Saurfang, on the other hand, has been sent to save
Alliance
babies.

No different then some of the pre-Wrath, pre-BC, pre-WoW itself pictures; there shown to build things up and get us all excited for what is coming.
As for the jokes; comes down to two things: 1. Thrall and Cairne are being shown as the heroes they are, and doing what comes naturally for them. 2. It's joke because there are no pictures of the Alliance leaders doing the same so obviously this is more "Rawr! Thrall good and great! All hail Thrall!".

I'm with you Rankkor, completely.
My main (despite my avatar) is an orc shaman. When I began playing wow I didn't know anything about the lore and characters in it.. but over the years I learned as much as I could about it, from books to previous games.. and of all the characters in warcraft, Thrall became my most favourite of all.
He really is just such an amazing character, an orc unlike any other, who saved his people, and other races, and formed a a society, though with some dark elements, a society you wanted to be part of.
My reason then became to roll an orc shaman, because of how great Thrall was. When I think of defending the horde and what it stands for, Thrall is the image of the horde that I will think of, no matter what.
Now that blizzard has decided to change this, and take away Thrall from warchief, then they are effectively removing the very spirit of what the horde should be, and replacing it with a lackluster, pointless, rage enduced sell out character, when even with the title of warchief he will mean nothing to anyone. There is only like 4% of people who have overall side they liked Garrosh, and it was
always
because they wanted him to make the horde more savage (another stupid idea), but not even liking him as a character, just his function.
If this is set to undo the horde I am proud of, then I'm just going to feel lost. I'll never join the alliance again after how I've learned what a group of xenophobics they can be.. but without a leader like Thrall...
Lets put it this way:
The alliance prided itself on being all shiny and white and self rightous with a 'I'm the good guy' attitude, so they gave the alliance a leader who shows the pure xenophobic attitude its really about, almost like a counter point to it.
The horde now has its dark elements with the forsaken, the warsong clan and other things, but those were always countered with Thrall being the noble and good leader he was in the face of all things, truely showing the best side of the horde in his actions.
So to take Thrall away, it breaks the balance, and nothing makes sense then.

Well, out of those who actually give half a #$%^ about anything to do with Lore, the vast majority of Horde players love Thrall.
No need to be so nit-picky. ;D

It's simple for me; Lore Thrall greater then Game Thrall, so till he actually stops standing around and doing stuff...... Not a huge fan of ingame Thrall.

The only character I respect in game is Kael'thas. Setback speech. That is all. :|
But we always knew that ingame characters would be nowhere near as good and buff and rawr as Lore versions, which is a shame.
