Disagreed, he channels power all the time. Just that his source is different (spirits) from previous gaurdians. I say its possible since he is proboly the best candidate for the position.
He may be able to channel the spirits, but he can't channel the powers of the Council of Tirisfal, those of the Arcane, Holy Light, (and Druidism?). Med'an is the best candidate for the position. The Spirits aren't channeled, he asks them for assistence and they decide if they want to or not. But yeah, Med'an is the best candidate, even if he is a sue, with the power of the arcane(his father) The Spirits(Garona....somehow) and Light(his draenei part). He actually combines an attack of arcane and the spirit of Fire, which is something Thrall can't do.
Thrall is a powerhouse, no doubt, but if he can't use all the aspects of the Council, the Guardian would be useless.

Upon looking up the exact meaning for channeling, you are correct. Perhaps contacting would be a better term.
The Spirits(Garona....somehow)
This kind of talk provokes speculation... damn, Adams, now I must ponder.

So if the spirits use thrall as a channel to make their power come forth in physic form- then thrall isnt actually channeling them but asking for their help? :P
That was rethoric but still not pr0 enough.
Anyway where does it state that you *have* to be a channeler of the arcane and not just of power to be a gaurdian?

So just to throw it out there and apologies if it seems somewhat simplistic but what if Varian and Garrosh are at each others throats so much that they both have their peoples capitols nearly razed to the ground by Deathwing and its armies? Would this not slap em both back in line with the one thing they fear most : the loss of their people and their peoples respect? Just a thought.
You seem to be riding to much on thinking Garrosh as wanting respect. He simply is not a good leader, he's a thug who gets more power and respect for being the son of Thralls best friend. He doesn't care what others think of him, he'd sooner just kill anyone he doesn't like.. not unlike Blackhand.

First I would like to say, in WoW, we have just as many instances of Horde problems as there are Alliance problems. With the Horde we see Garrosh's ideas clashing with those of Thrall. With the Alliance we see Varian's ideas clashing with those of Jaina. Granted, the Horde's is different in nature than the Alliance's, but then the Horde has different policies and procedures than the Alliance does.
True Varian and Jaina differ. However lets look at PUBLIC appearance here. They went to the Argent Tournament together and when they had a decent conversation till Garrosh insults the Alliance despite Thrall's efforts to keep him silent. Garrosh disobeys Thrall numerous times in meetings such as the Ulduar Trailer where he attacks Varian and openly tells Thrall he's weak. Varian/Thrall both seem like softies imo Varian won't force his hand against Jaina, and Thrall won't force his hand against Garrosh. However in regards to severeness of offenses. Teleporting the Alliance out of Undercity where they're sure to be outnumbered is nothing compared to attacking an Alliance leader IN Dalaran infront of their Magi Hosts.
:P
The Last Guardian, Medivh, should remain the Last Guardian.
Medivh stated Azeroth needed no more Guardians.
Yeah! The fate of the world has always resided in mortal hands!
I clearly remember that cut scene!
/Signed. Last Guardian should be last.

You definitely have a point, with the Alliance it is much less public, but then I also attribute that to the way the Horde is run. Thrall and Garrosh never got to finish the Mak'gora, so I think that by some sort of honor code, Thrall is unable to
truly
punish Garrosh for his outbursts. I really wish that the governing aspects of Lore were covered more thoroughly, especially with the Alliance and the Horde.
Still though, we haven't seen evidence of Alliance victories against the Horde in Cataclysm. Perhaps the leaders of the Alliance are a little more divided than we think... maybe some are refusing to support the areas/nations that need it... It's unlikely, but it's a possibility...
For the record, I would like to see a stalemate of sorts with the victories and losses, Horde loses something - Alliance wins something, and vice-versa. I don't really want either side to seem like they're winning the war, I just want the war. :D

Well looking at stormwind it is not unified and could easily be rebbellion and stuff in the city.
From questing the defias chain you clearly see it is a city were nobles vs the people.

I'm a horde player, and to be fair if the undead split from the horde (If i say) there wouldn't be much of a problem, considering we are one of the most popular races on the horde, and then you have to look at the other little details, we have the power to do things the other races cannot...I mean by definition an undead warlock is the embodiment of Ozzy osbourne We cannot be beaten with him on our side.

new faction of the ones who follow Thrall and Jaina which can be of both alliance and horde even on a pvp server.
Heh, nice dream but would never happen.... just because Blizzard is too fond of the whole "identify them by their features" thing. If you had alliance and horde working together, against Alliance or Horde, would be really confusing.

I disagree with almost everything the OP has said so far. First off, Cairne being murdered is nothing but SPECULATION! It's what some websites were talking about BEFORE BLIZZCON. Secondly, Trolls, Undead and Blood Elves are only being banished from the Central Ring of Orgrimmar (or something of the like), where ever that may be come Cataclysm.
Finally, you say that Varian has reasons for hating the orcs? As I recall, the so-called "Traitor Orc" who killed him wasn't fully orc. She was Half-Orc, Half-Draenei, and many considered her to be part human. Secondly, she LOVED King Llane. However, she couldn't stop the forces (presumably the Shadow Council) that ordered her to kill him. I mean, Llane was one of the only people that showed her kindness, and she couldn't stop what had been set into order. (All this info was taken from wowwiki).
Varian is a prejudiced fool who does nothing but assume, and doesn't look at the facts of the story at ALL. And Garrosh... Well, the Alliance already has a stupid, warmongering leader. It's our turn now.
