Garrosh was born before Thrall.... simple as that. During Beyond the Dark Portal, Grom talks to his son before he heads through the portal, and Garrosh is in his teens at that point, which would make him quite a bit older then Thrall.

Man, Garrosh is so arrogant as his father... I can't understand why these brown-skinned orcs hate the alliance, specificaly the humans... Were they somehow been influenced by demons as the green ones did and became bloodthirsty and hateful?
Actully, if you played the horde and done the quests in nagrand with the mag'har orcs, you would see there not bloodthursty like you claim, but a people struggling to survive, and Garrosh did nothing to protect his people. Its not the mag'har, but Garrosh on his own with Hellscreams bloodline that is the bloodthrusty one.
And also the bad lore writers who just turned Garrosh from an crying emo to a thug and savage overnight.

There was a recent post on the official forums that mentioned something about many players assuming that Thrall's understanding of honor is not the necessarily the only idea of honor in the Horde. I doubt Garrosh will stay as bad of a character as he has been so far.
Despite your position here on the threads Argentsun, you don't have anymore idea of what Garrosh will do then the anyone else. It doesn't change the fact 3/4 of people are proud to follow Thrall a leader and, the rest just want Garrosh (*!@#$%bag) hellscream because they want to pick a fight more often.
Isn't Vol'Jin dead?
No one seems to know what Vol'jin will be doing. He's been so inactive in wow he might as well be.

Garrosh is an interesting character, all on his own. His father is the one and only, Grom Hellscream. Not only did Grom Hellscream be the first "Blademaster" style hero in the WC3 series, he also redeemed his own soul after turning the Horde back into Fel Orcs by defeating Mannoroth. I'll admit, Garrosh does not have the Lore behind him to follow in Thrall's footsteps, however you must also grasp that this is Blizzard's Game. They can do quite literately anything they want with it.
On a softer note, Garrosh right now is an arrogant prick. I'm not going to defend him, however I'd like to see how his diplomatic views are in Cataclysm. Is he going to maybe change a new leaf after awhile, or will he remain the hot headed arrogant orc and Thrall has to come back to stop him or appoint someone else(say...Baine? or perhaps Cairne doesn't die and he comes out of hiding?) to be in charge of the Horde.
However, one of the things I'm hoping Dearly for is that in Cataclysm, will the Horde Players be able to choose which side of the Horde they wish to favor? As in, if you're an Orc and you do a specific quest chain, you are then a part of the Garrosh Horde, or vice versa and part of Baine's Horde?(If they appoint Baine as the Separatist Horde Faction Leader that is)
As a final note, If you don't like the fact that Garrosh will become the Faction Leader for the Horde in Cataclysm, you can always just Faction Swap now.

maybe Blizz, the Alli lovers that they are, are trying to even out the sides?
Honestly, I agree with tyrent on this one. I'm an advocate lover of the Horde, and always will be, even when Cataclysm comes out, and further expansion packs. Just to add a small anecdote into this:
two friends and I made ally alts on the same server(Thank you Blizz for letting us making different factions on a PvP Realm :P). We made our way to Stormwind City. We were originally planning on leveling these allies to 80 just to do it, however I don't know anymore(This is getting a little off-topic anyways). We went into their Trade Chat, and we commented on how the Horde always wins the BG's(We don't. We absolutely blow actually. I'll admit it xD). Instantly the Alliance bursts into "Well, they use tactics and strategy, etc. etc. etc."
Point being, every faction QQs about Blizzard favoring one faction over the other. Can't we all as players, just let things be and stop playing the " Allies got a easier time leveling!" or "Horde rock at PvP" slander? We both have our faults, hence why there is two different factions. If they were exactly the same, there'd only be one faction.
Again, just for closure, this is Blizzard's Game. They can do
ANYTHING
they want with it. Even if you don't agree with it, what's one less user going to be over the 11 million they've got?

I would sooner, to quote peter puppy, peal off all my skin and role round in salt before I join the alliance. The horde still has within it the heroes I admire and follow, it still had the spirital nature held by the tauren, and the concept of my orc shaman dealing with these changes will be something he needs to deal with.

you know, when someone says that its sorta dismissive. The fact is, in the game like warcraft, the way the plot is being driven is more based on the player base then you would believe. Often you see blizzard mods saying
'because the player based asked so and so for this and that we will believe this here'
.
They do this to accomidate the player base, so they can keep them happy enough to keep playing, and making more money from there mmo.

so, instead of taking the advice, and stop complaining about Garrosh being the new Horde Leader, you're going to muscle it out, remain on the Horde's side, and hope things get better? Just a few questions before I make the "Final Judgement".
1. Do you play on a Roleplaying server?
2. If you're going to "Muscle it out" so to speak, why make this thread?
3. Who is to say What the Player Base is?
Fact being, Blizzard doesn't go to every single character in lets just say, Orgrimmar, for the sake of argument, and say "We're planning on doing this change, how do you feel about it?"
The "Player Base" is maybe 3-4 million of the users, but definitely not all 11 million. Cause personally, I've never had Blizzard Employee's tell me jack of what they plan on doing or my personal views on it.
I'm however sticking by the "Maybe Garrosh will Change" platform I'm sitting on. Cause the reality is, Garrosh is a prick right now, but who knows what he does in Cataclysm.

You seem to have missed something here genericname.
Blizzard monitor things like wow forums, online debates, posts and letters, and from that form an idea of how to lead things in terms of story. Its not simply just some writers, sat around a desk, saying 'oh we're do this is time!'.
As for your questions:
1. Do you play on a Roleplaying server?
I'm a part time roleplayer, who also has a love for the lore in this game. I also play on a general server, so my head isn't stuck in rp land 24/7.
2. If you're going to "Muscle it out" so to speak, why make this thread?
Because I'm drawing attention to the fact of the changing face of the horde, since that is one of the big things happening in cata. Why shouldn't I mention it?
3. Who is to say What the Player Base is?
Blizzard are, plane as that. They hire people to monitor forums, letters and chats about what players want, what they dislike, and they make a collective opinion based on the majority. To do otherwise would be to much risk for a company that wants to keep its playerbase playing.
We have goblins in the horde now, they clearly read enough about playing suggesting that. Players kept saying how ones like Cairne do nothing, so now blizzard are moving him into doing something.. if that is only for a time before he's killed. Players wanted flying in azeroth, and for azeroth to be more intresting, so blizzard hit it with a hammer.

So horde is gonna be ruined? So what will be ruined within the Alliance? Wrynn gets to old or something? Jaina Proudmore dies? Who knows? And maybe that change within the horde will not be that horrifing as we think.
