Sad thing is it really is not a very strong talent. The deal though is that there is really nothing better, lol. Brambles is a small increase although consistent in terms of DPS gains. Gale Winds is only usefull on trash or HM Lady DW (some strats), or Val D.
OkF is just one of those talents that is very situational but is strong in the right situation.
And really only worth it in ICC itself.
Personal preference is to choose it but done with real thought about it and caution.

EJ has gone back and forth over things for a week or two on the glyphs question and settled on:
Glyph of Starfall
Glyph of Starfire
Glyph of Moonfire
Reasoning for each:
Glyph of Starfall - 50% boost to damage potential of this heftily buffed spell.
Glyph of Starfire - A moonfire that is not boosted by this glyph is a loss of DPS.
Glyph of Moonfire - Stronger DoT to be boosted by GoSF.
Glyph of Inesct Swarm - This is no longer taken as most boomkins should now be applying the 3% hit debuff and that should greatly assist healers in ICC progression content. This glyph is fairly weak in terms of bonuses when taking that into account at this point.

Just wait until you get crit capped and you have to start deciding where to put the 5 extra talent points youll have! :DBut isn´t the crit cap based on Starfire during Lunar eclipse? iLS still give 3% bonus to Wrath damage so it´s still and option and but so is Brambles, Typhoon and OwlF. Thinking about going 3/3 Brambles (<cough>as someone has mentioned <cough>) for a more relighable damage than OwF. So macro in barkskin with Force of Nature for some damage boost every 3mins (not that good tbh). But I don´t think the 5 last point make any bigger difference at all tbh (on a greater scale luck with Eclipse will decide if you are doing good or not - not much beat the frustration you get after the 4-5th wrath crit where you don´t get Eclipse :D).
Barkskin does no damage boost with points in Brambles. the only damage boost you will see is your treants damage boost.
I've said it in a few places around here OkF is still viable and worth more in most cases (ICC wise) then Brambles would be.
This is still the ideal Raid build in ICC level content.
The 2 extra points go into Typhoon, Brambles, or OkF at raiders discretion.

I don't really feel like this warranted its own threat so here goes:
Moonkin pre-raid set
I finished grinding heroics until my eyes bled for all of my bear gear about a week ago, so it's on to the next step: doing the exact same thing and gemming spellpower instead of stamina.
I went to the EoT vendor and noticed I couldn't simply buy an easy upgrade for every slot from her, so I decided to do a bit more planning, and the set above is what I came up with.
What do any moonkin think of this set so far? It's just over the hit cap without any gemming, and I only got stuck with one piece with mp5 on it.
The questions I had were: How are the trinkets? You can't slap filters quite so lazily on those slots, so I'm a little unsure. If anything, I thought of replacing one of what I had for the EoT one, and replacing the Femur for the unidentifiable organ and a one hander. (Surgeon's Needle pops to mind immediately, but there may be better options. That's just one I picked up while I was still Resto, so I already have it). I don't know if that would be worthwhile or not. I'm using Nevermelting Ice Crystal now and finding it extremely useful for forcing an eclipse proc, but that might have something to do with my 16% in-form crit rating. (I got my druid to 80 a while ago and immediately got sick of her, so most of what I have now is re-tooled 226 resto pieces and blues.) I would assume that with a better crit chance that trinket would be much worse. My
guess
would be, replace the femur, keep abyssal rune, and get the badge trinket.
The other issue I had was, is the four piece worth replacing Chestguard and the 245 badge shoulders over? I would also ask about replacing the badge headpiece, but since it has hit and I'm already ever so slightly overcapped I assume that would be a bad idea. My main is a holy paladin, so I've had it firmly entrenched in my brain for about eight months that there's no such thing as a useful four piece bonus, but maybe it's time to get over that prejudice.
P.S. I know it's not gemmed or enchanted. That's pretty easy to deal with and isn't going to require hit rating juggling, so I didn't bother putting it into the profiler.
Updated it with gems, mostly so I could keep track of what I needed to buy.
Edit:
Here's
a comparison of the current chest piece and badge shoulders with the T9. Looking at it I think the four piece would be a better choice.

Les you might want to pull the Focus Glyph suggestion out as the current standpoint has that while the Glyph of Focus is indeed a slight boost to dps over all the need to stand within 21 yard of the boss and be reigned into that range at least once a minute causes it to be a loss to dps on the majority of fights.
Essentially you are limiting yourself to roughly one third of the area you would normally be able to stand within if you plan to stand in range for Starfall. Movement and flexibility of movement is huge in ICC and limiting yourself this way is more detrimental then helpful.

And a question
Is it not advised to gem Potent (SP/Crit) when under the crit cap? You mention gemming Hit and Haste while under their respective caps, but don't mention crit.
This is a good catch.

This is a good catch.
I'll take that to mean it's safe to put some Potent gems in my gear. ;)
1575.5 - int/3 - idol = crit rating needed
Assuming full raid buffs except Focus.

Which would be better? Staff or One-Hand Weapon+Off hand?
