I have a lot of respect for certain Buddhist ideals, as I do for other religions as well. However they still believe in a power that transcends mortality and in that sense I still dislike Buddhism.

And yes, Buddhists still use their religion to strengthen their emotional resolve, which leads me to believe that without that religion, a large number of them would be emotionally fragile.

What a waste of a life that would be...
EDIT:
Ten Epithets
Some Buddhists meditate on (or contemplate) the Buddha as having ten characteristics (Ch./Jp. 十號):
1. thus gone (Skt: tathāgata)
2. a worthy one (Skt: arhat)
3. perfectly self-enlightened (Skt: samyak-saṃbuddha)
4. perfected in knowledge and conduct (Skt: vidyā-caraṇa-saṃpanna )
5. well gone (Skt: sugata)
6. unsurpassed (Skt: anuttara)
7. knower of the world (Skt: loka-vid)
8. leader of persons to be tamed (Skt: puruṣa-damya-sārathi)
9. teacher of the
gods
and humans (Skt: śāsta deva-manuṣyāṇaṃ)
10. the Blessed One or fortunate one (Skt: bhagavat)
In some sutras found in Mahayana Buddhism, the Buddha teaches that the Buddha is no longer essentially a human being but has become a being of a different order altogether and that, in his ultimate transcendental "body/mind" mode as Dharmakaya, he has eternal and infinite life, is present in all things (i.e., is "the boundless dharmadhatu", according to the Nirvana Sutra), and is possessed of great and immeasurable qualities.

That's like saying that as Christianity teaches people to lead lives free of sin, without it people would be going around killing, stealing, cheating on people's wives, and coveting their neighbours' oxen.
I'm an atheist btw.
Um, they do. Every day. It's not because they are atheist. It's because there is this thing in the world called "money".
If money didn't exist, people wouldn't kill, steal or covet, as there would be no reason to. Ironically, Christianity wouldn't exist either.

Money was originally conceived with the intention of making everything easier, however the entire concept has been corrupted from it's very core, right down to its trailing edge - in more ways than I care to type about at 1am.
To further illustrate my views on all religions requires an understanding of why people choose to be religious. Here are a few possible reasons for a person to become religious:
They are incapable of accepting their mortality; religion promises them immortality.
They have observed phenomena which they cannot comprehend; religion "explains" these phenomena for them.
They are sheep; religion helps them assimilate into society.
Their lives are worthless and depressing; religion gives them something to live for.
They are afraid and uncertain; religion gives them guidance and strength.
There are hundreds more but again, it's late and I'm tired. However, I believe that the last two points there are definitely viable explanations for why people may choose to become Buddhists, the first two are possible as well.
Please keep in mind that many human emotions are very subconscious, it may be an emotion that a particular person feels their entire life but never realises it. It was probably only 6 months ago that I myself realised that I have spent my whole life believing that I am in some way inferior to all other people, for example - a textbook inferiority complex, and I didn't even know I had one.
Tomorrow when WoW is down and I am more mentally alert, I may write a longer exposition on what I have learned about religion, money and human nature. Maybe then I will make more sense, and hopefully I will seem a little less derisive of religious people; as I think everyone here at the moment probably thinks that I hate religion, religious people, and everything about it/them.
