the other night in Hor I was healer and we had a super pally tank. I almost went to sleep healing her.
Others have as high a gear score but were impossible to heal.
Now is that the person not knowing the instance, their class or ?
In reg instances the only problem is most always dps. I have seen some with 5k gear score and doing 1k damage. I want badges and watching tv or internet porn and f it.
overall its all a crap shoot.
I wonder when you can make a 5 person group and hit random or specific.
Saves time traveling and you know whats going to happen.

Just a thought, if you were the leader, would you invite a guy who has full 5/5 pieces T9 (ilevel 232, better gearscore) or the guy who has full T8.5 (ilvl 226, lower gearscore) to your raid?
For a badge farm raid, I'd ask what their plan was for fights they have a key role in and put a 1 minute timer on to answer. If they can't answer in time, then they clearly haven't at least done some research on the fight, let alone have any experience in it. If that is the one with the higher GS, they get the boot.
Gearscore tells me nothing
DPS tells me they can beat the enrage timer, maybe.
I would clearly rather have someone who knows the mechanics of the fight than one with higher gearscore, as that information is infinitely more useful than an arbitrary maximum that's being used as a minimum level.

I would invite the guy who has full T8.5 since that is only attainable by doing Uld25 (except for the head and chest). But through assumption he would have more competency of his roll in a raid, unless of course he was carried through those 25 mans.
That works for the guy in full T9 as well.

Depends if the guy in full T9 is it straight emblem t9(232) or t9 (262/289) because as stated before (though im not fully behind this theory) Some ppl are just carried through heroics so they may be in full t9(232) and not know a darn thing of what they are doing or their roll in the raid.
We had an ex-guild mate like that; he got into a pug TotC fairly regularly, and felt that because he had high health and gearscore, he was 'the best tank' in guild... but he couldn't hold threat, he couldn't multi tank and he was a bit of an idiot.
Edit: If you look at my mage (Morrïgän) you will see she is in 232 t9 but is also complimented with varous pieces from icc, toc, and ony. What assumption would you makeThat you have been there, and at least know your class?

Ah... my friends... gearscore is absolutely worht absolutely nothing... it is nothing more than just a bunch of combined score from certain types of gear that people just use as a way to totally ruin the game for other players who may be better than those other players with higher gearscore. It has totally become a party pooper from the somewhat lower gearscored players with more experience that those with higher gearscore probably. But here's some things you need to look for overmore above the gearscore: Experience, competence. maturity, knowledge, and overall: don't be stupid and don't be an elitist jerk (if I've offended someone from that website I'm sorry, but I"m trying to prove my point here... I'm sure you're very nice. :P) I hope this helps clear the air for what some people think about gearscore.

Gearscore is one of the worst things ever invented in WoW.
I judge people by their DPS, not by their Gearscore.
Some would argue that there is a correlation between the two.
Chances are if you are capable of getting a 5950 gearscore, you must know something about DPSing, or you wouldn't have cleared what's available of ICC25 so many times. Not to mention that the better your gear, the higher your DPS based on a constant skill level.
The problem isn't with people who have amazingly high gearscores, the problem is with two kinds of people:
The people who think everyone below 6000 shouldn't go to the 5 man dungeons that only require about 1500 to be an okay source of DPS in.
The people who believe full PvP blues qualify them for ICC25.
In my experience, the people who complain about the addon usually fall into the second category.
This ten-fold.

3,588 WoWHead GS Fury Warrior
it's on a different scale but it bases its score on basically the same things as any GS addon, ILevel and color.
Even full BiS will be less than max GS but full BiS will outperform max GS.
Asking for a bear minimum GS for serious content is ok, asking for 6k GS to run a 4.5k GS dungeon is stupid.
Soon you'll be seeing "LF tank RFC, MUST HAVE 55k unbuffed health, 11k single target deepz, and 6k GS."
