Hi
I neither have fishing nor herbalism on the character i wanna skill up my alch and cooking.
I want cooking to the meat feast (skill 400) and Alchemy to 450.
I have herbalism on my level 74 druid so i can use his herbs to skill up.
How long and how much money do you think i must spend to reach there?
thank you
edit: P.S: is it true that if i go elixir master and do the quests and then switch to x-mute, I can save lots of gold?

Price vary from server to server. You will have to farm your own herbs anyway. Mid-lvl herbs are nonexistent from AH.
About specilisation, it depend of the price of material for Primal Might on your server. Also, think about you will need to run 2-3 heroic BM to do elixir mastery.

Well assuming you can farm all the herbs yourself (with your druid), then it shouldn't cost much money at all to get Alchemy to 450. The last levels can be rough, however, since the only way to level up is flasks. As for time, if you at 1 Alchemy right now, it might take quite a while. Flying does make it so much faster once you hit Outland and Northrend, so make sure your druid has that.
As for cooking, you can easily go out and kill mobs for whatever meat you need, so it shouldn't cost you a penny. It should go much faster then alchemy, so long as you use a database like wowhead to decide what is the best way to skill-up. Remember: there are a lot of recipes on innkeepers and such, so don't just level via the stuff on the trainer.
As for specialization, I know on my server Primal Mights are about 200g apiece, so those were not an option for me. I, instead, did the Potion Master chain, which only required 1 run through Botanica (easily acomplished with an 80 guildie), and 150g (I think) to change. I changed it to Elixir Mastery myself, but that's upto you of course.

For cooking, wait till next year :P You missed the pilgrim's bounty event in November that would have let you do 1-325 for about 20g total. :/
Outside of that... level fishing. It's not like you can't take another profession because you have fishing or anything, so just level cooking and fishing at the same time. It really is the easiest way to level cooking.

I did cooking from like 100 - 450 in one day. Killed raptors in STV for eggs and meat, then some worms somewhere, then bears ... all told if you plan ahead (and there are alot of leveling charts on line telling you exactly what to make) you can do it in a few hours foe almost no gold. Adding some AH buys makes it quicker, but saves you the time.
