personaly in a duel i use only spirit wolfs and fire elemental, and i wil never pop heroism becouse that spills the cooldown(i onlyuse it when that pesky undergeared rogue keep killing me)
i think thats the same for the moost classes.

Im a SV orc, and ill spill all my CDs, even racial, if I choose to be competitve. Most of my CDs are short and it dont bother me lol Although i think SW and FeT is over kill for an Enhance shammy lol

If my opponent has the presence of mind to use a potion while I am pressuring him with DPS and CC, and I don't, then he deserves to win.
I lol'd at the role switch
SUBTLE BRO
thats exactly how it happens isn't it?

Using things which haven't been considered by blizzard could be overpowered versus/for certain classes.
Thistle Tea perhaps?
They might have not considered it but they still put it in the game. I don't drink tea so I don't know what you mean with that.
thats exactly how it happens isn't it?
It has happened a few times, yes. I never whined about it, though. What was your point?

Swift Thistle Tea. Pop one of these and full energy bar. I think it has no effect after a certain lvl

Okay, thanks. I didn't know that as I hardly peeveepeed on the lower levels.
So you lose once to that. Live and learn. If it happens to you again it is your own fault. The counter is simple: bring your own tea. :)

the point is its highly unlikely it has ever happened like that, as opposed to you being the one using the potion and being (rightfully) whined at
potions are a crutch and the vast majority of players consider them an automatic lose in a duel, despite any role switching justification you try and use

Shad what are you tryin to prove? People that complain about the use of pots in a duel only do cuz they think thats 'against the rules' or 'unfair'.
As Ive said IDK how many times in this thread, duels are 'light' pvp. I hope that makes sense to you. if not my explaination wont amount to much to you.
If you pop a pot in the BGs and it results in you living and your target dying, is it 'against the rules' or 'unfair'? You came prepared and they didnt. Its that simple.
The only difference between a duel and pvp is that the loser doesnt die. Pot Popping only shows a person's knowledge of when to use them. I see nothing wrong with using what ya know.

when i take a shi
t on you it's not personal at all, its just because you're wrong
If you pop a pot in a 1v1 in the BGs and it results in you living and your target dying, is it 'against the rules' or 'unfair' or 'still a crutch'
? fixd; and yes
You came prepared and they didnt. Its that simple.
The only difference between a duel and pvp is that the loser doesnt die. try not to oversimplify too much
Dying in a BG can lead to up to 30 seconds of downtime and can have a minor to major (to the point of tide turning) effect on the game, in which case a potion can prove to be very valuable indeed, and since the BG generally isn't about the 1v1 dynamic, it cant be argued that the same "rules" (note: quotes) apply
point: you're still wrong
Pot Popping only shows a person's knowledge of when to use them. I see nothing wrong with using what ya know. pot popping requires no special skill or knowledge, they are not necessary in duels, and will only prove game changing when the opponent doesn't have one (or doesn't want to waste one in a duel where there is practially no downtime should you lose)

Sometimes simplicity is the only way to get thru to you.
I dont concider a pot in PvP a crutch. You said that death in the bgs may result in tide turning events that result in your faction winning. Does popping a pot still count as a crutch?
As for pot popping in a duel, is it a crutch if the pot that was used was a rage pot for a warrior? Is it a crutch to generate rage instantly, so they can perform?

I dont concider a pot in PvP a crutch. You said that death in the bgs may result in tide turning events that result in your faction winning. Does popping a pot still count as a crutch? yes, because you are using a tool, not defined to your class profession, to win something you wouldn't normally be able to win
As for pot popping in a duel, is it a crutch if the pot that was used was a rage pot for a warrior? Is it a crutch to generate rage instantly, so they can perform? what a mindbogglingly stupid question
here's a better one- why wouldn't it be?
before you answer warriors don't need rage pots to preform

Dodge passes.
Heres the one that connects. Rage pots are defined to the warrior class. I think that makes them viable for pvp/duels.

Dodge passes. no

they are not a warrior or druid ability, however its irrelevant because no warrior (or druid) would ever want or need to use one in a duel

Ability or not they are defined to the warrior class, so its not a crutch.
There are many things that a warrior (or druid since you brought them into this) wouldnt use, but they are available to them. A warrior wont use Mocking Blow in a duel due to the lack of dmg. A druid wont use Hurricane in a duel due to the fact it has to be channeled and is easily avoidable.
These are things wouldnt want to be used or needed in a duel, but they are viale because they are defined to their respected classes.
Next arguement

Ok as an alchemist and herbalist, i really dont get why me being flasked (flask of the north), using endless healing potion and lifeblood to selfheal is cheating, while you get better stats from being a jewelcrafter+enchanter. My flask does about the same as your ring enchants, take off your super-gems and ill stop selfhealing, take of your ring enchants and ill take off my flask.
Not directing to someone particular in thread, i just dont agree that my profession skills is vastly op to other profession skills.

you're doing it wrong
they are defined to warriors (and druids) because they are the only class that uses rage, not because blizzard intended to use them to balance PvP
.Next arguement
how about you work on some of those you've dodged
on that note;
a crutch (since you dont really have a grasp on the term) is something that the player uses to gain an unfair advantage on another player
preemptive strike on "but anyone can use a potion": if both parties were to use a potion there would be no net effect on the outcome of the duel, other than it lasting slightly longer
the only reason this argument is taking place is due to its use by one party when the other doesn't have one on hand or refuses to waste one because he's not terrible
there is a reason that potion popping is frowned upon in 1v1 senarios, using them take no special skills or intelligence, and they are used specifically to gain the upper hand. go ahead and use it in a duel, but dont expect your win to mean anything other than to yourself (not even that) and lol @ wasting your potion

Only rule I know is if your against a warrior let them charge first or they will cry.
Some rogues think it's their right to start with a sap. I'm not allowed to shadowfury them if i see them. Tools.
