Ok back when 70 was the cap I pvped Prot and i liked it. I also did 2v2 skrimishes and i lasted longer than my partner, and won 2v1. I think that prot is good for pvp, but i hear alot that prot has no place in pvp. Is prot viable in pvp and arenas?

Prot (tank) is viable in world PvP and BGs. As is Protribution (prot DPS). A Prot Warrior is a more viable option, as it provides better caster control.
Protribution is potentially viable in Arena as part of a burst DPS team, but only really in the 2s bracket. Definitely not as a prot tank.

As a prot, I find it somewhat harder to kill pure casters.
If you can kill them in 9 sec (2 stuns) or close to, you win. If not, it's a gamble.
Restodruids and frostmages are the worst. You hardly can push enough burst to kill druid before he/she HoT themself, and mages disorient you alot.
