Which heroics in Cataclysm - strange choice

I was just catching up on Cataclysm, and I saw they were introducing Heroics for Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep, and I thought it was a strange choice. There's some nostalgia value in there, but if you look at the levelling curve I wonder why they did not choose to do Heroics for Stratholme, Scholomance and Dire Maul.
For most players, Strat, Scholo and DM are more or less dead, same as LBRS and UBRS. They are balanced as lvl 60 dungeons for the end quests and most new players end up bypassing them and going straight to Outland, where you can gear easily in better BC levelling stuff in Ramparts.
I wonder, what would people like to see, an opportunity to revisit stuff from VERY early on, like Deadmines or maybe Blackfathom Deep, or the later instances that many people who started playing post-BC launch may never have played properly?

A good topic is worth making twice, lol... anyway, eventually every topic will have been made at least once, then if people don't make dupes, there will be endless problems with necro'ing...

The last post on that thread is 5 days ago. Adding a post to it would not be a necro.

Factually correct, I suppose, tho spiritually devoid of positive contribution.

Well its not like blizzard can't update all the other old world dungeons in the future as well. I would personally like to see Dire Maul, Scholo, Strat, and BRS have their levels lowered so more players can run them, instead of bypassing them and heading straight to Outland.

Reducing the levels works for me, though it probably leaves lvls 50-58 packed with instances and instance quests. You'd have a new instance to discover every other level.
If it was me doing the re-design, I'd be tempted to make some distinction between "Essential Quests" and "Basic Quests" to promote important questlines and help new players make the most of the game... since you level so fast these days you could easily bypass half the content and miss out on some great questlines like the Myzrael one, or Rakh'likh and the Hero of the Horde.

That's not a bad thing. At 53 (I think), the only dungeon that's yellow in LFD is BRD - Upper City (or is it Lower City?), and thus is the only dungeon available for the "random" finder. And the problem occurs when someone doesn't have the Shadowforge Key, or if they do have it, the group often breaks up well before the emperor.
Personally, I'm going to try to run these dungeons at least once so I can experience them... If it's hard to get a group, then I'll just get a guildie to run me.

Are you kidding me? Dire Maul is one of the most beautiful zones in the game, and the entire place is teeming with innovation that you don't see in very many other dungeons. It was a hassle for most people, true, but I have to admit that the little things such as the arena and the ogre suit that you had to go out of your way to do really made it that much more worthwhile. It made it feel as if the player was actually
involved
in shaping the outcome of the group, rather than playing in another linear, straight-forward, "just keep going straight and kill every boss" kind of instance.
