Tanking; Which heirloom weapon?

Hello,
I've searched a bit, but couldn't find anything, so I decided to make an own topic: Which heirloom weapon should I use as a Warrior Tank?
Both the swords as the mace are really slow, but I know that daggers would be an even dumber choice. So what should I take? Should I take the sword with an extra swing, the mace with lots of stam, or the other sword? Or none of them, and just search for tanking weapons as I level?
Thanks for the help, Muizenmaster.

The mace would be the best choice. You don't necessarily want a fast weapon for 5-mans anyway. Rage generation is usually poor, and if you are cleaving whenever possible on trash, you'll quickly run out of rage with a fast weapon, while a slow weapon will hold threat just as well without draining your rage bar.
What? Cleave will cost more rage with a slower weapon, but obviously do more damage as well. Rage generation in absence of cleave/HS will be identical.

Thanks for all the help guys, I guess I'll go for the mace. Did they change it in a recent patch, btw? I remeber it having intellect...

hmm? I assumed it was a static cost. Explain, please.
I believe he means that since it takes more time to swing a slower weapon, and a HS/Cleave swing means you don't get rage from auto-attack, you lose more rage, since it takes longer to get rage by swinging again. But I think this doesn't matter as much while tanking, because you'll probably get most of your rage from getting hit anyway...

Cleave has the same mechanic as heroic strike, in that it turns your next autoattack into a special attack. That means you lose the rage you would have gained from your next autoattack. With a slower weapon, that autoattack would have hit harder than for an otherwise equivalent faster weapon and thus would have generated more rage. This means that with a slower weapon you lose more rage by using cleave or heroic strike.

If you are relying on white hits to gain rage as a tank, something would be wrong. Your rage should generated from being hit, thus Cleave with a slower weapon has only a minute affect on your rage, making slower better.
It still has a larger effect on your rage than cleaving with a faster weapon would.

Those sound like words from a lvl 80 warrior. Try being level 43, and look down at rage from melee swings. At low levels, rage comes in so slow, you can barely Thunderclap and Revenge. Fancy moves like Cleave, Heroic Strike, or Shield Slam are out of the table.
edit: The hammer is the best. Stamina ftw. :O
