I don't think we will see a revamp of the actual landscape but we will probably see alot more Worgen quests/lore after Cataclysm.

Nevermind, I answered my own question.

underground caverns and secret passages that link them all together
Huh? Only underground cavern I know about is Roland's Doom by the Tranquil Gardens Cemetary (or whatever it's called).
Anyways, I would LOVE to see Duskwood remain relatively similar come Cataclysm. It's also my favorite zone pre-BC, and is one of the better designed zones from that time. Great storylines, epic quest-chain endings (The Embalmer, Morbent Fel, Stalvan, Mor'Ladim...), and the atmosphere. Only problem is having to fly to Westfall to get to the west side of Duskwood easily, but with mounts available at 20 it's not as bad as it was.
In another thread I had an idea for a Caverns of Time instance that dealt with the Scythe of Elune coming to Duskwood, and what Duskwood would look like before, well, it became Duskwood. Like, maybe we have to help protect Velinde as she makes her way through Duskwood or something. Would make a great tie in with the world changing and the worgen.

I'm not sure why the Swamp of Sorrows has avoided a similar fate though.

I believe that's what LoC claims, but recent sources say that its the work of agenst like the Black Riders of Deadwing, Morbent Fel and the events surrounding the Scythe of Elune.
At least that's what it seems if you read the Duskwood article on wowwiki and, unfortunately, I don't have time to make a research that would support it.
It could be both honestly; Kara's darkness seeped out and infected the Dark Riders(who are possibly 1st generation DK's).

Duskwood while have a "light overhaul" so not much will be happening there in terms of terrain.

I believe (been a while since I've done Duskwood) the quests in Duskwood say that it did not turn to its current fate until the Scythe of Elune came along. When that happened, the worgen were eventually summoned (by Jitters picking up the Scythe), and the Dark Riders appeared.
The Dark Riders are apparently affiliated with Morbent Fel, so it's possible that he sent/commanded them to retrieve the Scythe, perhaps so he could have a powerful army of worgen?
I don't think Karazhan's proximity has anything to do with it (other than the ogres moving in).

That's a relief & a shame.. I don't want the zone to change, but I would still like some development (if that makes any sense).
I hope 'light' changes include expanding some quest lines, especially the one involving the Scythe of Elune, that loose end ticked me off.
A little off topic, but... that map shows a dungeon in Thousand Needles? What's that going to be? o.o

I just saw that, apparently they are planning a new instance there. Maybe an underwater one.
