No, defense rating is of little concern to us. It grants useless crit reduction in pve (aside from thorim and such) and some dodge but we gain 6% crit reduction from 3/3 SotF. (crit immunity vs lvl 83 is 5.6% so we're above the mark by nature)
- When selecting armor pretend you're a stamina happy Rogue.
- When selecting a weapon think of yourself as a one armed stamina loving Hunter that lacks the upper body strength to lift a heavy iron axe.
- When selecting a cloak, trinkets, and jewelry act like a parry hating Warrior, Paladin, or Death Knight.
Here are the two most common specs, the third is more
threat oriented but is less reliable in low rage situations, doesn't provide ILotP, and lacks the utility of BI from the standard KotJ build.
Our most valuable stats for survivability are stamina
> agility and our most valuable stats for threat are expertise > hit.

Maul()Replace swipe, FFF and lacerate with the appropriate macro and add the mangle one to your bar but keep the unmacroed mangle handy for berserk+mangle spams when mauling would have you go rage starved.

Frenzied RegenerationMakes a handy "Oh %^&*" button and you don't risk being CCed between SI and FR, while they can be used separately the healing from FR will be significantly increased by tying them together.
DO NOT make a master Oh $%^& button that burns FR/SI/barkskin/a pot/healthstone/and trinkets, blowing every available safety measure will leave you highly exposed anywhere from 36-132 seconds
Socketsred=agil/stam (shifting) or exp/stam (guardian's)
blue=stam (solid)
Yellow=hit/stam (vivid) or def/stam (enduring)
A
Nightmare Tear is more than acceptable in a yellow socket, it grants a bit less stamina than vivid/enduring but grants 20 AP, 20 armor, and some crit/dodge (before multipliers)
If you have no interest in matching colors then use stamina (solid) gems.
MetasThis isn't a massive amount this far into armor but more mitigation never hurts, with 30k armor from gear alone (not including from agility or buffs) you get exactly 600 armor from the meta.
Single Target RotationThe general rotation is based around 6 seconds, 1.5 seconds between each ability.
FFF>Mangle>Lacerate>Lacerate
once lacerate is at a 5 stack replace it with swipe unless it needs refreshing
Mangle, it's the highest threat ability bound to the GCD.
Faerie Fire, it's the 2nd highest threat GCD ability, is ranged, and increases all physical damage on its target.
Swipe is the 3rd highest direct damage GCD ability
Lacerate is the 4th highest direct damage threat GCD ability
If you're responsible for applying the AP reduction or have the T9 idol be sure to work demo roar/swipe in between mangles and FFFs as needed.
AoE Rotation Usually 3+1: Swipe
2: see step 1
Most of this was copy+pasted from the link in my sig

It's useful to note for two reasons.
- It increases tps considerably for gimmick fights.
- It will help close the gap if a considerably undergeared tank is being brought in and they must prioritize survivability over threat gen.
I'm not particualrly well geared in my tank spec but I can strip agro off of some of the better pallies on my server if I'm not careful.
As for rotation it becomes a priority list of.
- FFF
- Mangle
- Demo Roar if not up and you are the one applying this effect.
- Lac to 5 stacks and then only refresh.
- Swipe.
All this assumes Maul is up 100% of the time and all told does not truly complicate things terribly much. It only looks complicated if you try to map the sequence itself out.

Dont use macros they will drain your rage and are
prone to breaking in busy fights.
I'm sorry, I lol'd a bit. And if you're having rage problems, you're either:
- In Violet Hold, or
- Not being attacked.
Rage will never be an issue (even if you Maul on every single attack) except in the above scenarios.

Well sometimes the RNG gods have been smiling down on me and I go on a doging spree and since you only generate 3 rage per dodge I strip my rage supply pretty fast.

I think that rotation has been covered pretty well so far here; for gear I suggest you look at
my pre-raid gear list. The first post is a listing of gear available before raids, order by slot and quality, the second is a specifig how-to get decent gear fast.
