Why do you get mad at people who don't know their class?

I just get mad at tanks who do heroics not knowing the pulls or how to pick up adds. It's not hard, if you don't know the pulls ask.A lot of people seem to think you're retarded if you haven't been magically gifted with the knowledge, and will try to kick you / leave if you ask.
As for me, I couldn't care less how much dps someone does or what their gear is - ,just that they don't ninja-pull, cause multiple wipes, unanounced afk, and are decent people. Had a fun happening in UP today, with a 6k dps Mage !@#$%ing at the rest of the group (who were mainly in blues). The tank for not holding aggro off him, the other dps for only doing 1-2k. He got kicked once the 15 mins were off, and we finished the instance with no problems.
If LFD lets you enter an instance, your gear is good enough for it. Regardless of your gear you need to be a decent player. So I wouldn't worry over people kicking you for gear - just put them on ignore so you won't get grouped again, and requeue.

Do you get angry at people who put salt in their pasta water even though it'll barely raise the boiling point?
Actually adding salt also enhances the flavor of the pasta as well...
IIRC it'll also help with the pasta not sticking to each other.
hmm the way I heard it, adding olive oil right before you put the noodles into the water prevents the pasta from sticking together... but salt could help.
Nah, salt is for seasoning, oil does nothing but make it tougher for sauces to stick (so not recommended) The way you want to prevent pasta from sticking is to stir and agitate the water for the first 30 seconds.

You'd think that the 79 previous levels they had "earned" (?) would've taught them at least one out of three aspects of their class. If they can level from 1-80 then thats an achievement in itself there, and there really is no excuse for stupidity from an 80. .
the only thing to remember here is that most classes have lvling specs which are quite different than the lvl 80 specs .-Hunters for instance mainly lvl as BM and have a tanking pet -when they get to 80 most swap to MM or SV specs and have to learn how to play their toon all over again , druids also mainly lvl as feral kitty then some change to tree or bear at 80 --
what i am trying to say is that the Lvling process doesnt always help new 80s learn their class.
The LFD system will help this problem if people use it to lvl their toons tho as they can be in their chosen spec while lvling and get used to playing their toon
It should help them learn it. When you change things around its only slight changes on a constant base, especially for dps classes. At the most you need to make a few gear changes and maybe a bit of a rotation change, but the only people who can complain that 79 levels didn't help and they need to change specs are Paladins/DK/Druids/Shamans/Priests, as they are the hybrids who really do need to learn how to change.
However, its still no excuse. You should be learning how to play your class even at 80, and if needed looking at guides. Informaion is so readily obtained that there is no excuse.

Because I'm not here to carry your &*!@-geared toon with greens through heroics, if you grouped with 5 people who had no idea how to play their class you would be getting mad too. Good luck having the patience to spend 3 hours each heroic.
If you want to play with your ^&*!-geared friends while having a spec of 0/0/0 group with 4 other retards and I don't have a problem with it, but if you are going to queue for a random heroic read up on your class, and know what the ^&*! you are doing, don't be lazy.
wel maybe some less of the @#$%^ stuff, but i agree with him, i have seen so many HC where the dps dis just as much dps as there lvl, even 1 time we had a lvl 80 dk tank.....in the dk starters gear.
EDIT:FIRST!

Is this seriously a question?
It's just annoying that someone is able to play their class from 1-80, then play it even more while at level 80, and then STILL not know what they are doing.
Honestly, it's not very fun shelling out all of the gold and time, simply because someone can't comprehend how to play this game.
I have been grouped with Prot Paladins in the RDF who weren't even using Righteous Fury. Are you kidding me? That's like, the first thing a Prot Paladin should worry about. I couldn't believe it. I was wondering why I was pulling aggro by simply standing within 20 FT of the mob.
It really just depends on how big of an idiot the player makes themselves out to be. If it was, let's say, a rogue who forgot to put poisons on his/her weapons during a dungeon, it won't risk the entire group a wipe and massive amounts of their time and gold.
But if it's a Prot Paladin who KNOWS that their role is TANKING, then when they forget/don't know to use their main spell/buff, then I have absolutely no time or sympathy for them.
I play a Warlock and a Holy Paladin as my two MAIN raiding 80s.
If I see a fellow Warlock or a Holy Paladin who's lacking in knowledge of their class, but seem intelligent and willing to learn, then I will take the time to give them a few tips and tricks.
They have to seem like my advice is actually going to help them though. I can't stand trying to help someone who literally doesn't listen. No matter how many times you and try and help them out, they aren't appreciative or able to gather any of the information you are giving them. That's where I draw the line, and that's when I will not stand for, 'noob' players.
And to the OP, don't act like you've NEVER been annoyed with a players inability to understand their class. Sure, it's not as bad when they aren't wasting your time and such, but when you are in a raid with someone who claims to know what they are doing, but have absolutely no idea, it's a whole different story.
Don't act like you deserve some Nobel Peace Prize for your efforts to be nice to everyone.

I'm just curious. If you come across a noob through LFD gemming the wrong gems, wearing the wrong gear, not doing enough DPS. etc. why does your limbic forebrain light up and start berating the other player? Do you get angry at people who put salt in their pasta water even though it'll barely raise the boiling point? What about people who pray before their meals? Or people that drink vitamin water?
Sounds like you just vote kicked after not doing enough DPS.
Does it? Why? Do you vote kick people for not doing enough DPS? Cause I haven't seen someone been votekicked for that. But I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. There was some guy who @#$%^ed and moaned about my sub 2k DPS even though I was sub 4k GS (he was 5500+)
I'll admit that I didn't read the whole post, just first 3 pages.
Doing 2k dps with 4k GS is very very bad. If you had a healer or a tank with such bad performance, you'd wipe. Just because you're playing DPS does not mean you can slack.
A new 80 doing 2k dps is fine, but 4k GS should be over 3k, probably around 4k. Ok it depends on the class maybe, so affliction lock I could see how dots just don't tick during clearing so dps maybe low. But sub-2k dps on boss fights with 4k GS for any class/spec is very bad.
Instead of making a QQ post, it's best to embrace criticism and see what you can do better.
