I would sure hope so...that's a beast of a system.

Only thing which isn't very good is the graphics card. Everything else is good.. though the graphics card will be fine for WoW.

I'm rocking an $800 dollar computer right now that blows WoW apart. I
screen-shotted
294 frames per second on this baby. Don't buy. Build.

To completely hijack this thread, does anyone know of either a good prebuilt, or a parts built computer that will run WoW well for around $500? (I'd prefer it be pre-built, but I can build it myself if necessary)

You're like staring at the wall though.
And? = )
I know it wasn't exactly demanding a helluva lotta processing power at the moment, but I've never seen such a high frame rate anywhere. And yes, I know it's overkill, but my rig doesn't drop below in 50fps at ultra high settings under any circumstances.

I'm still playing WoW on 12yr old computer...
I can raid 10mans ok at about 20fps but 25+ it's like 4-5fps LOL!

Yes, I'm running on a 22-inch LCD @ 60Hz. I was simply playing around trying to get a massive frame rate in ultra video settings. I put the vertical sync back on after that satisfying screeny.

Almost impossible to not lag in Dal, I have a beast of a machine:
AMD Quad Core Black Edition: 3.2ghz
4gb ram
ATI Radeon HD 5850
And other stuff..
But anyways, the lowest I've gotten in Dal is around 25 fps.. 30ish on average.
Raids and such I get an average of 60 fps, which I believe should be where it counts. I hit 100+ fps from time to time, but thats when there isn't much going on.
Remember, as computer have gotten better, WoW has improved the graphics as well.
Oh, I am also playing WoW with a 24 inch monitor at 1920x1080 resolution.

The problem with WoW is it uses the CPU for too much, rather than delegating a lot of the work to the GPU.
I have a i7 920, 6gb DDR3 and a radeon 5870 and i still get ~40fps in some places, whereas I can run CoD:MW2 or DiRT2 at max never dropping below 60fps. *sigh*

do you play with that latency all the time? perhaps you should invest in lowerping.com, no this is not an advertisement.
I am using it and getting 59 - 90 MS all the time.

If i stare at a wall, i get around 600 fps... but what fun is staring at a wall?

Screen shot or it didn't happen. = P
Like I said, just seeing how far up I could get my fps.
AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition Dual-Core overclocked to a very modest 3.625GHz (turned up the unlocked multiplier only)
CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ (Barely fits the case)
Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard
ATi Radeon HD 5750
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Western Digital 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s HDD
OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W ATX12V V2.2 Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
Rosewill Wind Knight Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Sure it's not running the newest Intel i9 or even a 64-bit OS, but I'm very surprised at what $800 can do for my WoW playing experience.

I'll have to check into it, but I doubt it'll do very much for me. I'm playing on a west coast server from the east coast.
