Idda been like "BRACE YO SELF FOO!" *WHAP*
heh, but in all seriousness, she had it coming. You don't jaw someone and expect not to get hit back, let alone a nut shot.

Thats how things work at average Middle/High schools.
Since Rex goes to a school with six year olds, they probobly have a larger tolerance policy.
That's actually surprising. I would have thought that with 18 yr olds mixing it with 6-10 yr olds, they'd have an even stricter policy on playing rough.
I doubt they lined up a load of pregnant women and tested abortion punches on them. :<
However, sometimes it's not the hit which causes the miscarriage, but the impact as a result of it. Say, if you fell or were pushed.
I assume that they looked at assault charges along with miscarriage information, and worked it out from experience.
@ Rex - I don't know that I would have done exactly what you did, and I probably wouldn't have punched her, but as soon as she started laying into me, I would have pushed her away, and not let it escalate into a position where either of us were physically harmed.

My family's motto "Don't start a fight, but don't hesitate to finish it."
You were both wrong and right. You have a right to defend yourself, even from a women, but it was against the rules to fight. So...

I've been in this situation before, she was being a !@#$%^. You were kind and sincere at first, and elevated as she did. It was for her own good. She hit your first, quite a few times to. I know you're supposed to "Go tell a teacher" but this does not actually solve a problem, in fact it elevates to a huge level outside of school. What you did was completely justified. You obviously applied quite a lot of restraint a first, even stopping yourself mid-strike. Sometimes someone just needs a good smack in the face to show them the sun doesn't rise and set over the bottom half of their left ass cheek. As long as she was not seriously injured, you're completely justified.

So, I was way to lazy to read the rest of this thread other than the original post.
Did you do something wrong? You could say you did, since violence isn't the answer and you snapped, but oh well.
But did you do something wrong because you hit a girl? Absolutely not. If she had enough arrogance and anger to get up in your face and start hitting you, then punch her back. No different than if a guy was getting in your face and getting violent.
I'm saying this from the perspective of a young woman by the way. I can't stand chicks that think they can push guys around and they can get away with it because 'you cant hit a girl.'

Unnecessary violence is wrong.
So is necessary violence right?
It can be. More often than not it's
amoral
though.
To the issue here. Can you honestly say that your violence was necessary to stop the violence she was committing? I doubt it -- in fact the way you describe it, it only aggravated her. Causing her to hit you more.
And that is why hitting women is generally frowned upon. In most cases, they are not strong enough to nor have the intention of hurting you more than the little they can do. There is no
need
to strike back. When a man strikes you it is usually either the case that he is strong enough or intent enough to warrant a defense on your part. Those are only generalizations, however -- there will be plenty of exceptions.
