Lock Tapping and Healers that won't heal - HELP!

This is so funny, this is one of my biggest complaints with Locks. I always put Wisdom on Locks and they always cry for Kings or Might, I say no problem, but if I catch you LTing, back goes the Wisdom. I certainly don't mind healing them while in a fight and they are LTing. Its when we are done fighting, and I am sitting down drinking, and the Lock is just LTing away to fill up with mana. If I am sitting to drink, the Lock better be sitting right next to me drinking. Its just disrespectful to LT away when he could sit down and have a drink just like me.
You're an idiot for "forbidding" a lock to tap. search for glyph of Life Tap.

Why do healers QQ about LT out of combat?
I life tap out of combat all the time, why? Because I can eat and drink at once. By making my health and mana equal, I half the drinking time.

Now what I am REALLY wondering, is how many times do healers actually see a lock lifetapping to near death in the middle of a fight..? That is what most of the complaining seems about... but I myself have never seen any lock doing it. Have you healers really seen it that much, or did you just have one or two very bad experiences with such a lock? I can't really imagine people being that stupid with their lifetap.
As for my own lifetapping.. I do it only when I need the buff reapplied, I'm not really running out of mana much usually anyway. I do love healers that tell me 'go ahead, lifetap all you want after fights' and top me off even when I tap at the beginning of a fight even though I don't think I even need a heal at that point. I will always thank and compliment them for the heals.
If for some reason I am both low on health AND mana in a fight, I will also often use my own extra abilities like Lifeblood or pop a mana potion or something, just to take some stress off the healer.

Since I started my healer (now 68,) I've seen several instances of LT that fall into three categories:
1. LT a second or two before the Tank pulls. In this case I'm talking about LT'ing until you're at minimum health. I've had two Warlocks do this one two separate occasions in Scarlet Monastery. The first time I never seemed to regain mana fast enough. The second instance the Warlock died within the first two seconds of a pull, and I made a subtle comment about how their health was went down so fast while the tank was pulling. It costs less to rez idiots like this than keep them alive.
2. LT after the fight is done. I have no problem with this as the fighting is done, after I gain mana, slap on a flash heal and a renew on the lock , and we're good to go. I'll freely admit ti would be nice if the lock was sitting down, drinking as well (taking advantage of the opportunity at least,) but I like to think of it as responsible life tapping.
3. LT during the fight. Again something that I look at as responsible in the sense that it's periodically necessary. In this case we're talking about 1-2 taps; I can deal with that.

On my warlock I just make sure I never go below 50% mana/health, I do a 3cast/1tap sequence and it works nicely.
Anyone saying a lock has his own tools to heal seriously is an idiot though(yes, I have an 80 holy priest),

As a healer, I usually tell the warlocks in my group to "tap tap tap away" and to top off their mana bar between pulls. Then I just toss a Riptide on them. I usually hate it when they don't Life Tap right away and wait until the tank pulls the next group THEN taps. That upsets me a bit but it's never really a big deal if they don't pull aggro.

What I hated as a healer was lock tapping between waves in H HoR.
Sure, go down to 10% life, so I have to heal you ... and get INSTANT AGGRO ON EVERYTHING, so either you die or I die...
otherwise, it's fine.

As someone who plays a level-80 raiding Lock, and has rolled Shaman and Priest alts, to heal:
People need to stop QQing about Warlocks lifetapping. It's a class mechanic. Get used to it. Just like tanks, being the central, primary person taking damage, so your job is easier. It's been said umpteen times before, but a Warlock lifetaps so he can kill things. He gets a spellpower buff, and he gets more mana. You WANT him to kill things, without impediment.
As a Warlock,
I bodyguard my healers
, when they get aggro. I lifetap intelligently. And, I always keep them soulstoned. I even make their job easier by passing out healthstones, if anyone wants one. (Healthstones do NOT share a cooldown with potions, so that's oodles of extra healing, at each player's fingertips!) I take care of them, and I expect them to likewise take care of myself. When others are drinking, I am eating. When others are taking a moment, I'm bandaging. I'm not leaving it ALL up to the Healer.
And what REALLY gets me frustrated here is how some people in this thread (and in dungeon runs) ignorantly tell Warlocks to Drain Life for their Health. This is typically used in only ONE OF THREE Warlock specs. Not to mention, Corruption only returns health to an Affictolock. It does nothing for the other two types. Learn this. Get used to it. Don't tell a Destro or Demo Lock to Drain Life. It's inefficient, and it hurts the team. Part of a Healer's job, whether some of you like it or not, is to keep those Warlocks going. Different classes have different needs. Warlocks are more dependent upon the Healer than any other DPS class.
---
At the same time? I understand some of the anxiety involved in this situation for healers. Especially, at lower levels, when you can't regen your healing mana as quickly. If a Warlock lifetaps themselves into oblivion, then I'll toss them something (if I can), but I also think they need to learn better. If they have a problem with this, then I'll explain that my Main is a Warlock too, and what they can do better.
At the same time? I want my Warlocks life-tapping, where possible, so that they can kick out the DPS, so that they can keep me and everyone else alive, and so that the Tank spends less time taking damage.

A few corrections:
My rotation is thusly: Send in Fel Hunter, Life Tap, Corruption, Curse of Exhaustion, Unstable Affliction. Done. I can just stand there with the NPC hitting me if I want and Unstable Affliction will heal me.
Unstable Affliction does zero healing at all. If you are using Drain Life, the Soul Siphon (Affliction) talent may benefit from UA being on the target, but that's it. UA is an additional, non-instant cast DOT. Besides that, its chief benefit is that, when an enemy dispells it, they get a nasty surprise.
Corruption, on the other hand? That's the one which heals you. If you are talented into Siphon Life, that is.
If I reall want good heals, I throw in Haunt and when the NPC dies I get healed for 100% of the damage done to the target. I can usually take up to three mobs my level of 2 mobs 2-4 levels above me with little problem, unless my minion dies.
Haunt also increases the damage of all your other Affliction spells on that target, and so you'll prolly want to use it frequently. The yodas of the Warlock world recommend it being your starter spell, in fact.
There is also the Affliction Talent, Improved Drain Soul, which gives you back up to 15% of your mana, if a creature dies with Drain Soul applied. (Speaking to the mana / life-tapping discussion)
But you're right... you can take on several mobs at once. And, you can have Corruption (which is instant cast) on several of them at once, feeding you 40% of its damage (50% with a glyph) as new health, from each one.
I don't pretend to know much of anything about 'Locks, but from extensive reading, Destro only seems really viable after level 71.
It's possible around level 60-64. But yeah... leveling Destro before then is nearly pointless.
And yeah, Demonology is just not for me. Even, with the new buffs. Maybe I'll give it another try in a bit.
