First off,
here is me. Upon downloading and running Rawr today, I got some strange results. First off, I always remove raid buffs and only leave self-buffs and stat food/flask checked. I also leave the fight parameters set at their defaults.
When I check Rawr's calculation of my DPS, it goes up when I replace my SPI/Haste gem in my head slot with a SPI/Crit gem. Similarly, Rawr suggests the SPwr/Haste gems in my gloves are better replaced with SPwr/Crit gems. My haste is 609, so I'm wondering if there's a sort of "soft cap,"
a point at which +Crit becomes better than +Haste. I just replaced my T9 gloves Tuesday night with the ones you'll see in my armory, as Rawr reports a DPS increase by breaking the T9 2pc bonus.
I know, I know. I've suggested to other Wowheaders that it's always Hit (to cap) > Haste > Spellpower > Crit. Seems like I might've been wrong. What are some of the professional mages' takes on this?
Edit: Seems the SPI/Crit gem isn't optimal either. Seems the SPI/SPwr is better in blue sockets. Specifically, what I can't get over is the suggestion being made to replace my reckless ametrines (SPwr/Haste) in my gloves with potent ametrines (SPwr/Crit). Given my current gear, Rawr says Crit > Haste.
Edit 2: Bah, no wonder. I had Rawr all confused. Seems I unchecked the Evocation box as well. Everything is back to normal.
