It has been a couple of patches since I touched my old Retribution Pally. I have been tossing around the idea of transferring her to another server and decided to try and bring her gear up to speed. Got into the new dungeon queue, got into OK; and proceeded to pull about 2k DPS and went OOM, obnoxiously fast. I am judging Wisdom too.
Now, did I miss something or am I just really really rusty with my Retadin?
Armory *cries*
I know my gemming is horrible, my first toon. My enchants, including head, are almost nonexistent. In desperate need of replacing my weapon. I need to turbo through as many heroics for Triumph for upgrades.
The reason I am posting my armory is so you all can see my spec and Glyphs. I need to know if I am doing it wrong or what. Should I get
Divine Intellect
out Holy? Or is
Divine Sacrifice
still a good thing in Raids? I am looking at all of my possible mistakes and hoping someone can point out where I may have gone wrong, or if I just need to get back into the swing of Retribution. Thank you all for taking the time to read my wall of text.

Divine Sacrifice has been nerfed. It's best to go into holy and pick up Aura Mastery if you're interested in raid utility. Divine Intellect is pretty horrible for ret but because you need to get 11 points deep into Holy I recommend taking it anyway.
You should be able to keep your mana by using Divine Plea and judgment of wisdom with or without that talent, however.

Make sure your judging on every c/d and use divine plea on every c/d if you need to.

no
if you want to maximize dps glyph of SoV is the way to go, but like pezz said judging wisdom, replenishment, and divine plea should be enough to keep your blue bar happy

I think he meant in terms of talent points.

I was not throwing out a lot of cleanse; we had a very good Resto Shaman. I also wasn't using Holy Wrath. I think that I just need to get back intot he swing of DPSing as Ret and get the joints oiled up, so to speak. Thank you all for your replies, you have been very helpful.

If you want to maximise DPS in heroics use SoC.
SoV only when fighting bosses.
SoV takes too long to build up stacks in heroic content.

I find stuff dies so fast in heroics that it may not even be all that fantastic on bosses... I've had several <30 second kills. Of course maximizing dps in Heroics isn't usually why people ask Min/Max questions but i've found that without replenishment in heroics I OOM a lot more often too. I do run with the SoC glyph just for that reason. I rarely raid as ret (ICC trash is about it) so its a trade off I can deal with.
If the boss lasts for 15 seconds, you should use SoV over other Seals. I don't need glyph of SoC, just judge Wisdom.

It's trash, and that's why it doesn't matter. Single target, SoV does more damage.

If you look at what the OP wrote he said a few pulls in a 5 man and he was oom...everyone knows SoV is better for single target, even my dog knows that and he eats his own poo.

.....
did you spec for judgements of the wise or whatever?
cause im sure u didnt
did you bother looking at his armory link? cause i'm sure you didn't...
if you did, you wouldn't have opened your trap, cause you'd know he DID spec into judgements of the wise.
if you have something viable to contribute, then do so, but if you're gonna make baseless accusations or say stupid things that aren't true, stop talking..

As far as SoC goes, it's not only useful for trash, any boss fight where a cleave effect is going to benefit your dps makes it worth the 1 talent point imo. I often seal swap during Heroic Anub while adds are up, those adds die much faster.
This. I have alot of fun with it now, and there are many times where, even during boss fights, and ALOT in heroics, where SoC is pretty nice to have. even if you spec into all of your higher dps talents, you still have a few points left over to put wherever you want.
