Why do people still PvE?

On another note, I do spend most of my time playing FPS games.
I also don't like the assumption that this is a PvE game. Sure, 90% of it may consist of PvE
elements
, but the endgame is pretty evenly divided in my opinion. After all, there are more "professional" PvPers than PvEers. As in, the people who are getting payed to play.
It's not evenly divided at all. At some point in BC it was probably closer, but PvE
massively
out-numbers PvP currently.

this conversation is funny but well i think like i have and answer to the OP alot of people that like PVE in raids do it for one reason
to be the First ONE!
first one on killing a raid boss(no help from guides or others )
first one on to seen new content
first one on inventing strats to do stuff in raid
you get the idea
i see the reason you think PVE is not as "fun" as PVP and thats because you go into a raid and follow instructions of what to do !(deadly Boss Mod , Raid leader strat , web sites strats)
that happends because some one else did the work for you "first one" thing so the fun of raiding is taken out.
as long as you depend on other for strats for your PVE yeah PVE will be boring do the work "your self" and it will be lots of more fun

This.
Oh, and...
Title pretty much says it all. I'm curious, it feels like bashing my head against the wall. Don't mean to hate on all the PvE lovers, I really just want to know what keeps you all compelled. PvP is the only thing that has kept me coming back for the last year or so.
PvP takes skill
PvE doesn't
Bull!@#$
I'm going to be fair here, and saying either is harder than the other is completely untrue. It takes a completely different set of skills and measurements, to the point they just can't be measured against each other. "PvP takes skill" is incorrect, because it's subjective. The difficulty of PvP is subjective to your opponent, as well as luck. PvE on the other hand is a mix of again luck, but after that the difficulty is fairly set in stone. I'm better than most people at PvP, so it's actually less challenging to me than hard mode PvE. I do still PvP occasionally however, just to flex my E-Peen, as well as sometimes for a challenge.

roflmao, this is ultra fail arguement, I am not even going to bother joining in
The majority of it isn't fail. The OP was merely asking what keeps
YOU
interested in PvE. Aside from polakkk (lol), there wasn't any real bashing going on. Most people stayed mature.
The bashing parts and people calling eachother stupid and so on for liking pve or pvp is the fail part, thats what my point is that this argument will go on forever about wether pve or pvp is better

The funny thing is OP posted in the PVE forum a question to PVE players, where are all these PVP people coming from, or do you guys regularly troll the PVE forums? Seems that if you are looking and posting in the PVE forum you probably participate in PVE. At that point why not answer the posters question rather than flame the people that did answer?
Lol I agree, but still, its is imposbbile to go through wow without ever pveing, you can't get to 80 without questing which often involves killing creatures therefore pve, but yes I get your point

For me, it's a pretty even split.
I love the thrill of downing a new boss that you and 9/24 other people have been beating your head on for the last hour. The sense of accomplishment is pretty great,
But, I also love the thrill of going against a particularly skilled team, and just barely winning or losing, then going over the fight ing vent with your 1/2/4 buddies whiel queueing up for the next fight.
They both require skill and knowledge.
Both have good points, both have bad.
Also; LOL at some of the people in this thread (polakkk). You can clearly see who's done nothing and is just QQing.
Gotta love the people who ruin it for everyone else, or make one side sound particularly bad.

Polakkk:
Deadly Boss Mods doesn't tell you EVERYTHING the Boss is going to do. It just tells you very important things that NEED to be known by EVERYONE to defeat the Boss. Some things like Onyxia's Deep Breath are at random so they cannot track that, but it is key to win.
Also only Fury Warrior, Arcane Mage and
Ret Pally
are the only two classes I've seen with a 1111121113222211 rotation.
Lies. I have abilities on CD all the time, and it varies in between them, especially since I have abilities I pop every fight that aren't in the rotation, but I have to be ready for them anyways.

Even though the base of an arcane mage is 11112, it goes further than that.
*Managing (AP, IV, MI, trinket, haste glove,...) cooldowns is required for optimal dps.
*Managing mana. An arcane mage needs to evaluate his rotation based on his current amount of mana and the availability on replenishment, innervates and mana tide totems.
If you wanne push out maximum DPS no clas is easy.
