should be all the expertise you need. (the boots are officially available as of today)
While your hit rating may not be ideal so long as you don't have over 368 (342 with/as a Draenei) it's not exactly going to waste.

Referring to spell hit cap maybe? But that doesn't make sense either because that number is still wrong I believe.

As you upgrade your gear, you will find that some of the hit will fall off and you be back in the range of 3-6% hit without gemming. As a paladin main tank, I have set the following rule for myself. If I am at or under 5% hit i will gem +10 Hit / +15 Stam, in all my yellow sockets. If I am at 7% hit or higher i will gem +10 def / +15 Stam in all my yellow sockets.

300 hit rating isnt bad. For the longest time I found myself having to eat hit food and had a hit chant on my weapon because my hit rating was so low I couldn't maintain threat. Honestly, so far in ICC, the only fight I have run into so far that hits relatively hard and think sacrificing some hit for mitigation is the third phase of Prof Putricide. We just started on blood council, so my opinion of that one hasn't been made yet, but, so far it seems long as your gear is up to snuff, even with high hit rating, you should be fine.
As a pally, you def shouldn't have any issues with exp either.

32.79 hit rating = 1% physical hit
26.232 rating = 1% spell hit
14% spell miss chance (given a moonkin/shadow priest)
14 * 26.232 = 367.248 or 368 rating before hit is absolutely useless
with/as a Draenei you have a 13% spell miss chance
13 * 26.232 = 341.016 or 342 rating before hit is absolutely useless
Was just pointing out that it's not totally a waste at their "300ish hit"

True, but the Glyph of Righteous Defense makes that moot too, if you want to give up a glyph slot.
And in the encounters where you would give up a glyph slot its much more worth it to glyph than to gear for hit. Its effectively worthless after 7/8%.
