Arms PvP - 1h+Shield preferences?

So I was PvPing like usual, swapped to
1h
+
shield
when I realised that maybe I should upgrade my 1h+Shield for PvP-purposes as well, seeing as this is what I currently use for tanking.
I want to be able to dish out as much damage as possible, while still having access to my defensive abilities. So are there any viable upgrades for someone who've never raided (and probably don't have the gear for it either)?
Also, does it matter whether I have a slow/fast 1h or not?

Use a dps 1 hander insteed. and when you arms and go defensive you spam revenge after shield block, so a slow weapon will give you more damage.

Would
Nighttime
be a viable option or can I do better yet?

there are always better weapons out there but if you don't raid much its probably one of the better weapons out there, just slap a chain or enchant on it and smack some heads.

Did you happen to misread
Revenge tooltip
?
Weapon damage doesnt matter in Revenge spamming.
Slow weapon wont give you more damage, it will do it more spiky.
so you mean that the other dps doesnt matter? a dps weapon will give you more dmg from your white swings and other talents when you go defensive.
Please think outside the box before you post again.

zakkhar only pointed out that having a slower weapon and spam revenge won't improve the dps, since revenge dps isn't based on the speed of the weapon, the only thing that affects revenge is your ap,.
learn to read what people write before starting to insult them..
also he's just saying the dps won't change from having a slow weapon, yes indeed it will make you hit harder, but the
DPS
, which was the actual question, won't change
the OP question was what weapon would he use when he goes into defensive mode in pvp as arms.
I said a dps weapon is better then a tank weapon. And that a slower one is prefered as Arms when going defensive.
Nowhere did I point out that the slower weapon was for the revenge spamming that only last for 10 sec, i was talking about the whole idea of when you slap on a shield.
And all I told Zakkhar is to not take everything written as an absolute.

Use a dps 1 hander insteed.
You are saying that dps weapon will give me more damage no matter what?
a dps weapon will give you more dmg from your white swings and
other talents
when you go defensive.
Ok I admit that i was off on the white swings since it was late and i was sleepy I formulated the answer pretty bad. But If you fail to understand the that aint my problem, since the op seemed to get it at the first glare.
The reason you want slow weapon as 1hander for arms
is not higher damage
, not higher dps, not more spiky damage, not stats on it, not Revenge spam.
Yes it is for the higher damage.
Its the reason you havent mentioned here (
because you only repeat what others said
):
If you say so.
Average weapon damage
.
Average weapon damage goes into (Arms pvp): Overpower, Mortal strike, Rend and Deep Wounds damage.
I assumed the OP understood the basics of the talents of arms, that they are based on weapon damage and that faster weapons have lower weapon damage and slower have higher, that was why I said a slow dps weapon is better. He has leveled his warrior to 80, I dont think i need to spoon feed him every bit of information.
Even if you saw this thread and feelt the need of commenting on something Zakkhar, the OP got his question about what kind of weapon answered.
