Couple of Holy Nova related questions...

Just a few questions that I had in mind that I can't seem to find answers for anywhere:
1) What's the SP scaling on Holy Nova for damage and heals? I can't seem to find this anywhere (easily accessible that passes by work filters, can't see Wowwiki here).
2) Does Holy Nova proc Divine Aegis (and other on-crit effects)? (I think the answer is 'yes', but I'm not 100% sure, since I occasionally run across an old post talking about it not working)
3) Is Holy Nova impacted by the AoE cap of 10 targets for healing as well as damage? And what happens if there are (say) 10 enemies, and 5 party members?
4) How long would a fresh 80 Disc Priest be capable of spamming Holy Nova for?
Given the increasing desire for shorter and shorter heroic runs, I'm just wondering trying to get a feel for how it works.

1: According to DrDamage (A mod that does damage and healing theorycrafting), the healing gains are .41sp and damage gains are .18sp
2: I believe that HN procced Surge of Light today in H VH, I'll retest and confirm
3: Not sure, haven't had enough mobs and I don't trust its HPS
4: Just spammed it in holy spec for 33 seconds, I would assume that a Disc priest would get at least another 5 seconds out of it due to cheaper instant casts and more maximum mana.

Well
, there's no reason why it shouldn't.
Your spell criticals
As for Disc, you're much better off just bubbling the whole party, rather than trying to spam Holy Nova.

Sure you can Holy Nova now if you get in a group where everyones way outgearing the heroic and most of them are melee. A year ago it wouldn't have worked well. But I have seen Disc priests do exactly this.
This is precisely it. Most don't even have to be melee - only the tank and any melee there are really going to be taking damage in the first place.
Thanks for the help, guys.

1) Not much, 16% sounds about right
2) Yes
3) No idea if it's capped, it doesn't do much damage either way.
4) probably about 30-40 seconds, I could spam it for about a minute straight w/o any cooldowns. Almost 2 minutes w/ PI & Fiend. This will depend on regen, cooldowns, total mana & haste.
I normally hit for about 1200 w/ it, It can crit I believe, I would recommend picking up the glyph if you wanted to do this. I can pull 2200-2600 depending on the amount of AoE & group, last time I was fight with 2 undegeared DPS for 3rd place. It was kinda funny, but the entire reason we were doing them was to get them geared.
I have run several easier heroics with nothing but Shields & Holy Nova covering 80% of my healing. Boss fights I normally stayed back, put up DoTs, SW:D, MB, HF, Smite till refresh dot / stronger spells off CD. I only do this in guild runs, where I know the tank is good, or I know most of the group.

Ok, here's a kicker...
Could you potentially multi-box 5 Disc Priests spamming Holy Nova and use it as a walking tank?
From what I'm reading, assuming that you can get 2200 SP and say 25% crit:
Heal: Average 770 + 2200 * 0.41 = 1672 healing
Talents: +5% (Twin Disciplines) + 4% (Focused Power) = 1822 healing
Glyphed: +20% = 2186 healing
Crit heal: 3279 crits
Divine Aegis: 30% * 3279 = 983 shield
Average healing per cast
: 2186 * 0.75 + (3279 + 983) * 0.25 =
2705
Damage: Average 430 + 2200 * 0.16 = 782 damage
Talents: +5% (Twin Disciplines) + 4% (Focused Power) + 10% (Searing Light) = 930 damage
Glyphed: +20% = 1116 damage
Crit: 1674 crits
Average damage per cast
: 1116 * 0.75 + (1674) * 0.25 =
1255
.
So with 5 Priests multiboxed, would that mean you could essentially get 14,000 healing per cast (every 1.2 seconds? roughly?) and do 6,000 damage? To up to 10 targets simultaneously, while providing heals to everyone else in the raid nearby? (Let's not assume Tenacity in WG yet...)
Disclaimer - idea is still subject to all the control problems that multiboxers have in general though. Just presents a survival-oriented alternative to mass Chain Lightning.

as every Disc should know, the "insta tank" button is called Pain Suppression....admittedly its only for 6 sec but if you had 5 disc priests you could with UBER co-ordination get a tank for 30 sec of a boss fight.....and then /wipe

If you are on a 5 man and people are near each ther, it is a nice complement to a Prayer of Healing on demand. The idea is to throw a ProH, then quickly Nova. There's a delay of less than a second, making it effectively count as an "expansion" of ProH (like ProH for 3000, HN for 1000 for a ~4000AoE heal). Typically more practical than casting 2 ProHs which likely overheal too much; It is dependant on proximity though.

Well, as a healer, ask yourself this: Would I stick with a group that does 5k DPS combined? Assuming a fictional "normal" (tank, healer, 3dps) group in which the healer does 0 DPS and the tank does 500 DPS, which is very low by any means, that'd leave a 1.5k DPS average for the other three DPS, which anyone can achieve right when they're fresh 80, in quest reward ilvl 175 blues...
Well, that's not too bad, I was thinking from a PvP perspective though (hence the Tenacity comment). Any arrangement like this wouldn't be for taking down people 1-on-1 though (unlike shammy/mage multiboxing, for example), I was thinking it'd be useful for large scale engagements, such as walls in WG or gates / landing area in Strand of the Ancients. You could graveyard camp quite effectively, I would imagine.
But yes, I agree, it's not worth the cost (no multiboxing is, really). Just a random thought that crossed my mind.
