A) White(poison) cap is nonsensical.
B) It's not 315 in any balanced raid group to begin with.
C) Hit is good.

I wouldn't gem hit beyond the 315, but with the newer gear it is hard NOT to go over 500 or so hit. That is fine because fewer misses = more hits = more crits = more energy. I have no hit gems, and the only enchant with hit is Icewalker for the boots as that is BIS enchant for boots, and my hit is 521. And I am just under 5300 gearscore... there are a few 6000 GS people out there.

I consider my gear pretty damn good, alot of 251/264s, and I am sitting at 274 hit rating. Spreadsheet is telling me to still gem for ArP as combat. I am right up against the crit cap though. At almost 58% raid buffed. Spreadsheet is showing raid buffed crit of 56%, so it might actually be a mistake on it.

My unbuffed hit is 612 and I don't have a single gem or enchant anywhere for it. I bet lots of rogues have more than me. If you are near 315, unless you have a good reason, gem something else. Spreadsheet for best results.

minimum hit rating requires is still 315. having more is recommended approaching to high end gear due to crit cap mechanics.

And the spellhit cap is 237 for Horde and 210 for Alliance anyway.
It's only 315 if your raid was formed by an idiot, in which case you're probably going to fail anyway.

The white hit cap for dual wielding rogue with no addition improvement for tree specs or racials is 886 hit rating (removing 27% miss rate). The yellow(special abilities) is around 266 or 8% .
fewer misses = more hits = more crits = more energy
Not exactly. Less miss does equal more hit but not necessarily more crits.
When a miss percent is removed from the white attack dice roll(top end)..it is replaced on the scale by a hit percent(bottom end). When all other possibilities are removed..whats left is either a hit or crit. Crit comes before hit on the white damage dice roll. so for simple explanation purposes lets start off with miss which is first on the roll 8%= 1-8 on the roll out of 100. Your crit%=25 takes up 50-75 and whats left ..normal white damage=76-100. If you remove 1% miss for the roll scale then is changes to 7%= 1-7 on the roll out of 100. Your crit%=25 takes up 49-74 and whats left ..normal white damage=75-100. That why its important to try and replace that miss removal with crit instead. This where the crit caps come from. Now of course I have simplified it quite a bit.(..dodge.. parry...glancing blow ..block) may or may not take up spaces on the roll depending on your stats.
Also yellow attacks are supposedly on a two roll system..but I haven't read that to be confirmed by Blizzard and not everyone is convinced of it's existence.
There also has been mention of a 4.8% crit suppression for warriors and rogues done by spread sheet statistics at a well known reputable website.
