They want to keep the 2H tanking mechanic alive as it's somewhat unique. I imagine they'll remedy it by buffing Blade Barrier's overall reduction.

With Cata, block will essentially be a RNG
Blade Barrier
. I wouldn't worry.

shield block is gonna become straight dmg mitigation...i don't think their assigning a number like...hey everytime you block you mitigate 20% dmg...it's supposed to be like having extra armor. overall it'll help mitigate an extra 10% physical dmg or something like that. I'm sure they'll either buff blade barrier or do the thing they always do >_> buff frost presence and then after about 1-2 patches down the road suddenly we're overpowered again.

Personally, I'm more interested in how they're going to handle these "Tree Bonuses" for DKs. When other classes spec into a tree they're going to get free bonuses simply for going to certain levels in that tree. Which is fine if a given tree does a specific thing. Which isn't true for DKs. Are all trees going to give both Tank and DPS bonuses?
What they will likely do is offer passive school bonuses (Blood will be passive physical damage, Frost will be Frost, etc.) and have each talent flagged for a role. Scent of Blood, for instance will yield a tank mastery talent point and contribute to tanking bonuses.
That's the way I would handle it anyway.
