should clarify.
Don't be misled with focusing on the crit comparison, btw.

The important thing to remember is that Holy Paladin currently is largely about HL spam. Yes, FoL is a very nice ability, but when it comes down to the uber pally heals, it's the sustainable-for-80-sec-supreme-burst-heals that sell us. If you're gemming for SP that's nice, but you get a lot more holy lights out of gemming for int than you do extra healing (which is likely to OH anyway) by gemming for SP. FoL is a great heal for the mana cost when you don't need the extra power, but if more HPS is needed and you don't spam HL (not just cast one here or there - but use it to the point it burns through a good portion of your mana pool) then the other healers are carrying you.
If you are not having mana problems there are 2 possibilities: 1) you overgear the content (in which case you have enough SP anyway), 2) you are using FoL too much and the other healers are making up for your healing. If #1 is the case, it doesn't matter, you may as well get haste gems to undercut the other healers (although I would stay with int to get the big mana pool), if #2 is the case you need to either consider whether you're an FoL psuedo-hot that's getting carried (and gem entirely SP) or if you're going to be an HL spammer (where you go pure Int).
As to my gearing choices...
I am getting 4PT10, beyond that its all a factor of how much int I can get off gear+gems.
I gemmed for the Insightful Earthsiege, 1 Nightmare Tear (to activate meta), and the rest +20 int gems.
I enchanted my bracers +16 int over +30 SP, and my weapon +30 int over +63 SP. I consider it worth it.

Nothing wrong with having a few orange sp/int gems to meet red sockets, however mp5 is horrible to gem for. You should never have more than one green gem.I would go the complete opposite direction of that statement (MP5 > SP always). However, straight intellect with one Nightmare Tear is almost
always
going to be the best option. Blizzard puts SP bonuses in 99% of our gear, and they're all worthless.
I mean, as it is now HL has a pretty long cast time compared with FoL (mine's 2.14sec), so would it be in my interest to increase my haste just so I can dish out HL's faster? You want to have at minimum, 676 haste. This brings your FoL down to a 1.0 second cast and HL down to a 1.3 second cast with all raid buffs discluding Bloodlust. During Bloodlust, your HL cast will fall down to a 1.0 second cast. Your gearing priority should look like this: Haste/MP5 > haste/crit (to 676 haste) > crit/MP5 > haste/crit (over 676 haste). Some would argue to prioritize haste/crit over crit/MP5 always, but I would have to disagree.

Sadly I cleared the last VoA 25 I healed on my shammy.
It was like...
Healing done:
HPriest: 3kk
Pally: 2.5kk
Shammy: 1.9kk
Druid: 1.7kk
Shammy: 1.6kk (mine)
Overhealing done:
Pally: 3kk
HPriest: 1.9kk
Shammy: 1.2kk
SPriest(!): 1.1kk
SPriest(!): 1.0kk
Druid: 600k
Shammy: 200k
Was both surprized, how big Pally overhealing is (although I've hear about that before), and how big the SPriest healing return in effect... Although it went mostly in overheal, and effective healing was less than 500k per each SPriest.
In short: There's nothing to worry about, it's NORMAL as long as noone dying. However, you could try to save your healing where it's not important to keep overheal, I don't recommend that unless you have serious mana issues.

Essentially. Sorry, just an old (and not very good) habit.
