"I think they're cool" doesn't beat all the math proving that they aren't very good. The shockadin is only useful if you want to deal damage in your healing gear, at which point your average ilvl 245 geared paladin is going to be doing under 2k DPS. Compare that with say an average ilvl 187 ret pally who can do 3k. Yeah, shockadin isn't viable.
You're better of dual-speccing ret for DPS and holy for healing.

Why? i think they are awsome...if u know how to play one... :))) but practise makes perfect so :)))
Even if you "know how to play one", it's not versatile as a raiding or high end pvp spec. think of it like a .22 you'd shoot when you were a kid -- Fun to plink down stuff and shoot gophers, but you're not going to go to war with the thing or bring down an elk. In fact. It's easily the worst DPS spec possible. It's the worst spec for DPS that's meant to DPS. I guess that sort of novelty is kinda fun.
My point is: it's impossible for it to perform in anyway beyond messing around. Go ahead. Holy Shock crap down with no Spellpower. You might as well be leveling by punching stuff.
"if u know how to play one" -- No sorry, it's actually impossible for it to be competitive.

Yo he just got the game and is looking to have fun.
There was a thread about shockadins somewhere with a pretty decent build for them.
If you're not 80 and raiding stuff, then who cares, go for it. You can heal anything and solo just fine with that build.
