Try to hold your hit at 264 or as close above it as you can.
263 is 8% but that one point can make a big difference in how much hit is xfered to your pet.
Hit is xfered to pets by whole numbers. so if your hit was 7.9% your pet would be at 7% hit.
The extra point ensures your pet will also be hit capped.

From the Hunter stickies above:
1) What is the Hit Cap for Hunters?
* 5% (164 Rating) for same-level mobs (including PvP)
* 6% (197 Rating) for Heroic Dungeon bosses
* 8% (263 Rating) for Raid Bosses
- Note: reduce the rating by about 32 for each point in Focused aim, and for Draenei presence.
As long as you're close to your hard cap (but not above it) you're fine. Remember also that the Raid Trash will only need 6%+ Hit Rating. It's just raid Bosses that need the full 8%.
So it's optimal to swap to your hard cap gear before the Boss fights, while having less Hit (which means more Stats) for Trash.
Yes I know there's an opinion that
"Hey, it's just Trash"
so people feel they can AFK it, but that's a lack of respect for your Raid. Faster Trash killing means more Boss attempts.

WRONG, to NOT gimp your damage on a BOSS, you MUST be at or ABOVE hit cap, anything below hit cap is a chance to miss for you and your pet, which is a waste of time, and a loss of damage. If ya miss him ya is not going to kill him 8-)

For a level 80 hunter, 32.79 hit rating gives you 1% hit.
263 Hit Rating is needed to reach the Hit Cap
With 3/3 Focused Aim 164 Hit Rating is needed to reach the hit cap
With 2/3 Focused Aim 197 Hit Rating is needed to reach the hit cap
With 1/3 Focused Aim 230 Hit Rating is needed to reach the hit cap
Therefore you would need about 263 hit rating to reach the hit cap and ensure that you (and your pet) always hit against a raid boss.
