I don't know much about the lore of death knights, but why would they want to kill the lich king? Isn't the lich king supposed to be the leader of all the death knights? If hes the leader, why would death knights want to kill him?

People like you make me wonder why does Blizzard even try with Lore.
People who dont read quests, skip ingame-cut scenes, and never heard of wowwiki miss out on 50% if not more, of the game basicly.
Here is the Lore about the
Knights of the Ebon Blade
.
This is the Faction of Death Knights players plays as.

Threads like this make me /facepalm. You should start paying attention to things going on ingame so you dont have to make threads like this again ;)

Off, topic, but:
I'm amused at the plight of the Forsaken Death-Knights, in particular. To die and be subjugated to the will of the Lich King, TWICE?
I would definitely have a case of the *** about that.

For the phat lewts. have you not been paying attention? DKs (and ret paladins, but thats another issue) are really hellbent on getting phat lewts, stopping at nothing to get phat lewts. Ninja needrolling, masterlooting ninjaing, crying, arguing, killing, stealing.
will the lich king drop phat lewts? if the answer is "yes" DKs wants to kill him.

Greetings, new minion. I have brought your spirit back from the Twisting Nether and stuffed it back into your rotting corpse, reanimating you against your will. I have also broken your will so you will serve me unquestioningly. I only do these things to show you that I am in fact, a caring and compassionate soul.
I will force you, an intelligent zombie animated by unholy forces, to learn how to use said unholy forces to murder women and children in my name. Regardless of whether or not this goes against your prior code of honor. I am so glad you see things my way, don't you see how nice of a person I am?
Finally, I will use you as a sacrificial lamb to try and draw Tirion out of hiding so I can murder him and lots of other paladins while I'm at it. I won't anticipate that my getting my ass kicked will free you from my control, but given you are clearly a friend of mine, you won't be coming to seek revenge for all of this right?
Love

umm, you might just say that they are humans who remained dead longer before being ressurected and made friends with horde, finding the Forsaken a more welcoming faction than the Alliance now.
This is possible on an RP server, but lore-wise that's not true. They fell under the LK's sway and broke free twice.

I humans make about as much sense. So now the humans are willing to accept the Undead back, but only if they were far more powerful and caused for more havoc upon the living than the guys they didn't accept? I play Forsaken Death Knight that was a human, died, and then felt more in common with the forsaken and pitied them. He refuses to join the Alliance so long as they do not accept the rest of his race.
