As a lock, you're already bound to have more health than the other casters, so if you died from some damage, it's either:
1) A big AoE intended to wipe you
2) Damage you could have easily avoided
3) You're doing the fight wrong
4) You have terrible healers :D
I personally don't see the point in using SL in PvE as more than filler points for imp spec, even if you do get a large amount of survivability out of it, if a lock pays attention to what's going on around him (Hurr Durr stand in Defile) then he shouldn't die in the first place, or at least you'd hope. :)
EDIT: Forgot to blame healers :P

I'd like to know your opinions about this spec, your suggestion and ideas.
Not the opinion you were looking for?

0/13/58 performs better than 0/18/53 on live right now anyway. you're talking about lowering output to increase survivability and this is not a new concept for 3.3.3 (it's not even a concept that is new to MMOs or, further back, RPGs!)
if you find more value in the survivability than you do in the damage then go for it. this isn't new and it isn't something that is going to be "cookie-cutter". we build for maximum DPS on the understanding that if people have specific reasons for straying from that path then they can.
bladestriker's point is valid. being able to take a hit that would kill a mage may allow you to make more mistakes than they can get away with but this isn't something you want to plan for.

The reason why is destro so appreciated in high end raids is the lowered damage taken provided by Soul Link
I'm sorry What?
... I decided not to bother.
Maybe you should have, what he says makes perfect sense. What you said doesn't.

So, as we all know, destro is getting another buff in 3.3.3. The buff is done through Immolate being able to crit, which I somehow expected. That also means, that Glyph of Immolate should overtake Glyph of Imp, DPS wise.
Did I miss a memo? When did Destro start using Glyph of Imp?
The reason why is destro so appreciated in high end raids is the lowered damage taken provided by Soul Link. Soul Leech spec, however, doesn't pick Soul Link.
What? I mean, maybe I'm not keeping up on the Warlock community enough, but I didn't think Soul Link was really a huge deal. When switching to a 3/13/54 +1 build you had the choice of either SL or SF, but it really didn't matter which you took. Your healers are there to heal, siphoning a little damage to your imp isn't going to be a big deal, and certainly not why "destro so appreciated in high end raids."

The imp glyph is actually a viable choice since they buffed the damage the imp does.

pilda's been around here long enough for us to assume s/he knows locks. i think this was a just a mistake... the derision toward bladestriker was silly too.

Rather large mistake TBH... I don't think any serious raiding warlock believes that their raid spot is significantly more/less valued (Read: Significantly) due to survivability, nor do I believe any serious raiding guild would have their Locks sacrifice DPS for Soul Link (which is an iffy talent in itself; soul linking an Imp on battles with constant damage is a questionable practice).
If you are having trouble surviving encounters, your guild needs to evaluate the gear/skill level of your healers.
