Drop keyboard turning abilities (change binding of AD from turning to strafing - like in FPS shooter games).
Keybind QERFTGZX` along with shift and alt modifiers with all skills you use. You can still have them on your bar from 7 to = but dont use em that way - it slows you by a lot. F1-F4 is also a good option for some cooldowns.
Your right hand needs to stay on the mouse 100% of time.
Keybind some of the most used abilities to your mouse wheel (not using it myself).
I also have raid marks keybound to f5-12 so i can fast mark.
Profit.

My right hand never leaves my mouse unless it's to type something. I autorun with the thumb button, look around as normal, and move by holding the Right mouse button and strafing, usually.
Main abilities are 1, 2, 3, 4 (SS, Rev/Cleave, Dev, Heroic Strike, respectively). I still have QWEASD all bound to the original keys (strafing and turning). I use a lot of shift keybinds as well. Shift-D Demo, Shift-C CBlow, Shift-W Shout, Shift-F Fear, Shift-S Spell Reflect. Mouse Wheel Down is ThunderClap, Mouse Wheel Up is Shield Bash, Shift-MWD is Shockwave, and Shift-MWU is Cleave. Plain old H is Last Stand/Trinkets.
That's the majority of what I use.

Targeting: Tab is great for cycling through mobs...but its a little aggravating when an add jumps on the healer and i tab 20 times and it ALWAYS targets mobs that are already hacking away at me.
You could try turning on nameplates and target by clicking them. It might be an idea to customize them then, with an addon such as
threat plates
.

I use a
Nostromo n52
.
My binds look something like this:
(36 available hotkeys)
The D-Pad is bound to Forward, Back, Strafe Right and Strafe Left
The Orange Thumb button is Tab
The Bottom thumb button is Jump
My hand never moves from the mouse/gamepad unless I have to type to someone.
Best $40 I have spend.
Edit: added link.

I tried the official WoW mouse too and absolutely hated it. The software is not customizable to an even remotely acceptable degree. Plus it's clunky and not all that ergonomic. I'd rate the G5 higher, and it costs like half as much.

gummi467 and Zakkhar have got the right ideas. I won't rehash what they said except to say that keeping all your important abilities within reach while not letting go of the mouse is essential. You should definitely find which keybinds are most comfortable for your hands and play to those while still keeping one hand on the mouse.
Personally, I play on a MacBook Pro laptop a lot of the time. I've rebound my action keys to " j k l ; ' " and that lets me move/strafe with my left hand, turn/target with my right hand using the trackpad and I still have the use of abilities with my right ring finger/pinky. This may sound weird, but when I play on this computer it works well. I have a different set of binds for my desktop PC (which I use when raiding).
One warrior trick I've found essential is to bind a macro to a mouse button that will charge or intercept or intervene depending on what is available off of CD. Taunt should also be on the mouse. Click to target and then charge/taunt will save that overeager DPSer (almost) every time.
In short, try sticking with your right hand on the mouse for turning/targeting (at minimum) and changing up what your left hand does. Make sure you're comfortable with it. If you have big fat fingers, maybe the qzxcvfr keys aren't for you. If you have little hands F1-F4 and 1-5 might not be for you either.

I do what Gummi suggested (bind to ESDF) and it works great. I use a cheesy generic mouse that has multiple side buttons which I've mapped to various abilities. As he said, mapping the side buttons along with SHFT and CTRL opens up a lot of possibilities for easy and fast ability uses. Didn't cost much at all and it works fine. I keybind and macro pretty much all my abilities to areas easily reachable with my left hand except for important cooldowns which I manually click. (I'll fat finger them at the wrong moment if I keybind them, every. damn. time.) Stuff that I don't need a quick reaction time to use (like setting target icons or my shout buffs) is bound to F1 -F5 and 1 - 9. Turning is done via the mouse with my right hand.
Turning on the nameplates helps quite a bit, too. It's easier to target a loose mob during AoE pulls if you can just click on the name plate instead of tab cycling through everything.
Also, I want to second what sakkura said about getting the Tidy Plates:Threat Plates addon.
TidyPlates
:
ThreatPlates
are specifically designed for tanking. They change border colors depending on threat levels and who has aggro which makes AoE pulls a heck of a lot easier to control.
